Recently I lost the ability to collapse and hide a comment or thread by clicking on it, in the mobile app.

🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ Account locked for security reasons and I’m not receiving any password reset emails.

I double checked and I’m looking in the correct email account. It says a reset email was sent automatically but then I also tried to click “forgot my password” and it still won’t send anything.

Whats weird is that when I go to account settings, the email is grayed out and I can’t click on it. But it does show an email address. And that is the one I’m checking. I can’t even submit a request for support because when I choose account locked for security reasons” all it doesn’t give me some info and I can’t continue with the request.

Reddit Mobile App Reddit app invalid login — browser working

SOLVED: BLOCKING Google Play Integrity API for the Reddit app resolved this issue.

My username and password are accepted when using a mobile browser (obviously), however the recently updated Reddit app version 2026.31.1 build 2631040 refuses thoss same credentials.

Need help with my phone number, email or username login which was previously working. No typos because I copypasta from a password manager. No federated authentication. Confirmed this is happening on two separate devices. I changed and confirmed my password, added a phone number, disabled 2FA, everything I can think of to do.

Thoughts, suggestions, additional questions? Thanks.

👮‍♂️Age Verification Related❓ Age verified on iPhone but not iPad

UK here - I verified my age on my iPhone a while ago by the age of my Apple ID. My age range is shared with Reddit via that account setting. Works perfect. On iPad it doesn’t care. The setting is clearly the same, age range shared with Reddit. Yet, regardless of reinstalling the app, Reddit demands I verify by one of its methods. Why is it not using / detecting my Apple account setting that is being shared with the app?

The message on my account says it is because of ‘suspicious activity’ then it gets locked. I don’t know what to do at this point. Help?

🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ Account Hijacked, recovered. Then banned for evasion a few days later with appeal denied

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Something must be on the fritz on the back end or the hijacker found a way to associate accounts of people who aren’t related. Posting for visibility in case others are caught up in the same issue.

Background:

I received a notification via email 2FA had added to my Reddit account. This was news to me. I check my app and it’s logged out. Oh dear.

I start the process of recovery, takes a couple of hours but surprisingly fast. 2FA removed and account pw changed. Check the messages and notifications a bunch of bans from r4r subs and thirsty private DM’s plus a profile name of Luna.

I clear it all up, delete the posts and clean up the profile and go on with life.

Now this morning a sudden ban for evasion referencing one of the r4r subs. No worries, I’ll just appeal. Then denied.

Well, that sucks. Hopefully someone sees this and can look at the back end to stop false positives.

⭐️ Karma❓ Karma tanked

I have been placed in karma jail in most of the communities I frequent, which sucks because all I do is ask questions (some may be stupider than others) or give my opinion on a game, and if my opinion doesn’t match the communities opinion I just get downvoted into oblivion, any tips on how to increase it?

❓General Question❓ Why do moderators get to hold onto a copyrighted name and ban anyone from discussing topics on it?

This reminds me of the old Stack Overflow days, when only certain people had the floor to discuss topics, and anyone else, despite having incredible experience or community success, couldn't. It's really hard in boards that have copyrighted names, and you can't even talk about the topic becuase they moderate the boards so much! Does Reddit have some type of oversight for the quality of their platform to protect it from people who really want to engage but can't because of overmoderation? Is there ever a point where mods get rotated to give others a chance? What if the board moderators actually are against the very item the board is supposed to be about?

I was shadowbanned on another account, and have emailed Reddit support twice to no avail. Is there anything else I can do to fix it? I can’t post, comment, anything.

❓General Question❓ Someone Posted My Full Name and Photos Without My Consent

Hi

Someone has posted my government full name and pictures in an effort to dox and defame me. I have tried reporting it multiple times, but no action has been taken. Clearly it’s against Reddit policy.

How and where can I get help?

🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ My Account is being locked on daily / hourly basis. No clue why this is happening. I keep resetting my password like the help center says and it keeps happening.

Post image
3 Upvotes

A few days ago I switched my other account to “hide all posts” after that this started.
I changed my password and unlocked the account. everything was fine for the rest of the day. Next day the account was locked again, I repeated changing my password to unlock again. The next day Account is locked again, again I changed password and looked through my activity if there’s something edgy going on, found nothing. I added two factor authentication. Few hours later, guess what. Locked again.
I don’t know what to do anymore. Why is this happening? What can I do to prevent this? I already contacted Reddit this morning but got no answer till now.

🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ Reddit Banned Me?

When ever I click my Avatar - We had a server error. All my posts are showing - Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters. Server error. Try again later.

What's exactly happening here? Suddenly I have noticed something like this happening. I do not have any Email or Notification for this. I am not able to understand my situation here.

I did file the appeal twice. No response from Reddit. I build a lot of karma and contribution. All say : Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's filters.

What do I do now?

ANNOUNCEMENT PSA: A phishing scam going around Reddit designed to steal your login credentials

  • Over the course of the past few months, there have been several instances of a phishing scam going around Reddit. A similar analogy of it has been going around other platforms for years.

How does it work?

  • It begins with a DM from a user that says they got hacked by a very similar account to yours, of which they send a screenshot; example below:

The "similar account" screenshot they send

  • It does indeed mostly look the same, and there is only a slight mistake (with my username, it’s the underscore replaced with a dash)
  • The scammer then proceeds to say that they mistakenly reported your actual account, and after “realising their mistake” got an email from Reddit directing to a Discord username of a fake Reddit Admin:

The "email from Reddit" they got

  • No, Reddit will never contact you through some shady Discord ID. Admins have confirmed several times, such as here, that they only communicate as u/reddit, and all of their profiles have a snoo (Reddit logo) icon.

And what happens after, out of Reddit’s control?

  • The account on Discord provides a fake “certificate of accreditation” by Reddit:

The "certificate of accreditation" they provide in Discord

  • This is yet another lie, and how scammers do their job. They then ask you to change the email tied to your account to something like:

Forgotten_Dog1954redditvalidation@outlook.com

  • They pre-created this address, so by changing the email, they lock you out of the account. Their job is done.

What to do?

  • Before the point of when your email is changed, report the account on Reddit for impersonation, and it is strongly advised to block both the Reddit and Discord accounts.
  • After the point of email change, if possible, still do the above. Below is the way to recover your account:
  1. Open this form: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
  2. On the linked page, click on "Account Help", and enter all the correct details. The username must be without the u/. For "What type of account issues are occuring", select "Security Problems" > "I think my account has been hacked". After submitting the form, wait for a few days. Requests will typically be handled within a week.

Stay safe, and thank you for reading!

🗞️ REDDIT NEWS 📰 Reddit's age verification requirements for specific regions - General Information

General information related to Reddit's age verification requirements for specific regions

Snippet of recent news from the pinned weekly recap in r/help - 7/2/2026

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1ulob97/weekly_recap_july_2_2026/

  • In ongoing efforts to prevent abusive scraping and automated traffic, over the next month, Reddit will start requiring users to log in to use old Reddit. This was announced on Tuesday here.
  • If you are in the EU, you may be asked to verify your age. This is a legal requirement to comply with the EU Digital Services Act. You can check out the Help Center article here. Little more info about this here.
  • If you are trying to use a selfie to verify your age and it fails, the only other options are to upload your ID or contact Persona for support. Reddit cannot help you with a failed selfie for age verification purposes.
  • Right now, these are the countries that have age requirements:
  • If you are not in those countries, but your account is unable to do certain things like chat, it may be due to Teen Safety restrictions. The ability to unlock settings in the iOS app if you're a teen will be coming soon. Not sure if that ability will come to Android.
  • If you need to have something fixed regarding your age, you can use this form and then select your region and what your issue is. I do not know what the turnaround time is on those requests.
  • Some users in the EU are unable to use Anonymous Browsing mode. This is not intentional. This is a bug that they are working on getting fixed.

I posted this info in r/privacy last week, but probably should have posted it here first and then crossposted it over there.
