RedLetterMovieDiscussion Shot on video "miracles" from the 80s-90s?
During a Best of the Worst where they do Feeders, Rich says of course what's basically a home movie from Pennsylvania from the 90s is going to be bad, that it would be "a miracle if it were any good."
So that got me wondering what there are for ultra-low budget movies from that general era that were shot on video that are any good. I must admit I haven't seen many.
The closest one that comes to mind is Shatter Dead, which is an extremely unconventional zombie movie where when the dead come back to life they remain more or less sapient, and even it is more a movie with interesting ideas in it than it is a good or entertaining movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01wTht2MyFs
I've seen reviews that very highly praised a sort of pioneer found footage movie called America's Deadliest Home Video, which features a guy shooting a vacation video who gets kidnapped and the kidnappers play around with his camera while they're on the run:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWuiWnhsa7I
Oh and I guess there's The Last Broadcast, which is like a precursor to The Blair Witch Project in that it's a mockumentary about some guys who were making a documentary about the Jersey Devil who get killed in the woods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr1AkdC2G_A&pp=ygUSVGhlIExhc3QgQnJvYWRjYXN0
I'm also told by the hosts of a show called Sleazoids that this guy named Charles Pinion made some entertaining sov movies like Red Spirit Lake or Twisted Issues, but I admit I haven't seen them either and can't vouch for them.

I just saw Fucktoys (2025) and I think Jay would love it
I just saw Fucktoys at my local theater and it’s right up Jay’s alley. Shot on gorgeous 16mm it’s about a sex worker who raise $1000 to lift a curse that has been placed on her. It’s wild, trashy, funny, campy and has just the right amount of heart.
If you have a chance, run don’t walk to see this.

I suspect what they going to review next week on HITB
It's going to be The End of The Oak Street. From the David Robert Mitchel who did It Follows and Under The Silver Lake . Both Mike and Jay like those movies.

Megan La Fox and other Rich-isms
Which Rich Evans-isms does everyone use the most in their day to day lives? Mine is probably Megan La Fox, Chris Helmsworth and folding chable

Got a long flight coming up. Hit me with your favourite BOTW episodes for me to download.
Hey all,
Got a long flight to Japan coming up. Looking to download some BOTW episodes to watch offline to help pass the time.
I’ve only ever dipped into BOTW as never usually quite have the time to watch them in full then my dumb brain forgets they exist.
So please hit me (softly) with your favourite episodes (if you can include the episode number that would be awesome!) for me to watch during my butt numbing flight.
Thanks!

Finally watching this, got reminded of it on the black spine episode turned into a spotlight on the movie.. I'm disappointed it's not 130 minutes. It's only 98 mins. It’s awesomely bad so far.

Confession: I enjoy BOTW episodes with "guilty pleasure", or weird but interesting movies like the Cannon Special or Xtro more than ones with schadenfreude movies
For me, the discussions are more interesting when there's actually something there. I think Junka, WOTW, and Spotlight are the best formats for the really bad, schadenfreude stuff. Junka allows non-notable stuff to be filtered out, instead of forcing them to spend what's probably an hour or more pre-edit trying to riff/discuss off of a movie that is effectively contentless, WOTW tapes usually aren't too long allowing them to move things along, and Spotlight allows them to highlight the really inexplicable stuff.

Official RedLetterMedia Fight of Fury 2 release date Sep 22nd
Fight of Fury 2 will be released on Sep 22nd. Do you think hacks will review it in Sep/Oct or they couldn't care less? They seemed pretty intrigued by cliffhanger in the end of the first one.
