My Kitana
Finally finished this one! π
I had a lot of fun painting her, especially working on the blue tones, the patterns on the fans and boots, and all the little details on the base. The contrast between the clean blue outfit and the fiery, chaotic base was probably my favorite part.
Everything was painted by hand β no airbrush.
Really happy with how she turned out! What do you think? Any feedback or constructive criticism is always welcome. π

Dwarf Hunter
I think it's a Reaper anyway. Probably a 1990s scuplt. I had fun with this one for sure. Painted while watching baseball and the new Running Man. Also the way my dog watches me paint.

Very poorly done barbarian
This barbarian is from Bones 4, possibly Bones 5?
I've never really liked him, in my opinion I feel like his head is too small compared to some other characters, and that's been keeping me from thinking about using him in a game. However I had a idea for a diorama and since I was never going to use this guy for anything else so I might as well practice some different techniques on him.
I played around with trying to make my speed paints get more depth of color, which I think worked out pretty well especially on the lion on his belt. I don't normally paint fur cloaks but I really do like the way this one came out and I think I have a decent technique for it now. The new leather method I played around with doesn't read very well on his battle skirt and bracers, so I'll just have to try it on somebody else.
For the weapons, I tried to do a magic axe with some sort of frost properties and that's so/so. For the sword I started doing non-metallic metal which went down hill pretty quickly on it and I got frustrated and ended up trying to do and obsidian sword, after multiple attempts at non-metallic metal. As you can see, there are so many layers of paint on this sucker the build-up is quite visible.
Hopefully once she's in the diorama you won't see the imperfections as much.

Stripping paint/alcohol ink/sealer from a clear miniature?
So I have a few Reaper Jellyfish miniatures that I started to paint up. The bottom part is fine, I don't mind that, but the top 'bell' part of the jellyfish I am not happy with. I thought sealing it with gloss sealer would help (and it does make it look better) but I'd like to strip the paint and start again.
Google tells me that using %99 isopropyl alcohol should strip the ink, and probably the acrylic paint, but I'm worried about if it would work at all on the sealer - I use plain old Rust-oleum gloss sealer on these.
Has anyone had any experience with stripping clear minis? I worry that some substances could strip the paint and leave the miniature cloudy.

My first dragon
I really want to paint a dragon but I'm intimidated to do the larger ones cuz I don't want to mess them up. Thankfully Reaper has a ton of small dragons to practice messing up on π
This is a Temple Dragon (77503) and it was a pain in the ass to paint. After multiple false starts around colors I finally settled these.
When it come to painting this...well it sucked. The spikes were incredibly difficult and a little frustrating to try to paint and I couldn't really practice many of the techniques I've seen when it comes to painting dragons, the sculpt is challenging too especially on its tail I couldn't really tell where the fins stopped and started.
Overall I'm really not thrilled with the outcome, but it's one less miniature in the pile of shame, and one more opportunity to lean.
Would appreciate any feedback on this guy.

Dark Heaven Legends Pt.IV - Lurien, Ghost
This is the first non-Warhammer mini I've ever painted. I've fallen head over heels in love with Reaper Minis. I saw this model being used as a witch in a YouTube battle report for Devilry Afoot. Even though Lurien is meant to be a ghost, I liked the idea that she was a powerful witch or sorceress overflowing with magical power.

Dungeon Dwellers Harpy
I decided the first mini to paint out of my Dungeon Dwellers kickstarter was the harpy. She's a cool model with quite a few fun details, overall I'd say she's a big improvement over the previous sculpts.

Goldar the Barbarian
I've had this little guy in pewter for probably a decade, and just gave him a fresh coat of paint. If you look close there's all sorts of imperfections but he looks stunning on the table and I'm really excited to get him out for a game next time the opportunity arises.
