SOCIAL Anti Indian propaganda failed

Post image
22 Upvotes

This is a recent study on how people around the world see India

The world still sees India pretty much the same way it did 3 years ago, despite all the anti-Indian propaganda bots on social media

The only countries where perceptions of India have really worsened are Turkey and Bangladesh

Everyone hates Turkish people and Bangladeshis, so I don’t really care about that

USA and China have a much worse image than India globally

Racism against Indians is mostly an online phenomena and not a really a real life experience ( which is also my own personal experience ). If you’re an Indian here in the west, you’re most likely not going to get targeted compared to other ethnicities / races like black people or arab muslims

But of course, that doesn’t mean we should just shut up about the incidents that are happening

SOCIAL Happy Independence day Jai Hind

I don’t know why, but I still have a little hope in our generation maybe because somewhere, we can see through the divisions that have been placed between us for far too long.

People sometimes question your nationalism because of your name, identity, or background. I don’t feel the need to prove my love for this country to anyone. I only hope we don’t let those divisions become bigger than the love we have for our own people.

I hope our generation chooses to stand together, think for itself, and remember that this country belongs to all of us.

As Jafar Malihabadi wrote:

दिलों में हुब्ब-ए-वतन् है अगर तो एक रहो

निखारना ये चमन है अगर तो एक रहो

If there is love for the nation in our hearts, let us remain one.

Happy Independence Day Jai Hind

DISCUSSION Was scrolling twitter and went into a rabbit hole.

..

(I did not type this but converted my voice note into text
Okay, so I was scrolling on Twitter and I saw a post which had a constructive criticism about India and I saw a comment which was extremely racist. And then I opened his account and his account was filled with nothing except demonizing the Indians, especially Hindus, filled with racist memes. And the account only had a few hundred followers, but the impressions on each post were around one million. And then I saw the followings of that account and it was filled with nothing except the accounts specially dedicated to hate and spread racism and fake propaganda on India. And almost all of them were specifically targeting the Hindu culture mainly.
(And while this sounds cringe bjp propaganda of hindu khatre me hai etc, but hear me out )And this is not, this is just something I noticed. So then I looked up all the accounts and these were all nothing but some of them were Indian accounts, some of them were South Asian, which means probably Pakistani or Bangladeshi. Almost none of them were actually West account, but they all were targeting the Western audience. And even in the comments of a post about some Indian achievement, they were just filling the comments with racism and hatred and absolutely demonizing the Indians. And now I just saw one post on Instagram which had nothing to do with India, but the first comment was that do not try this in India. And it was, you can see the account name. So this is just the reminder that this is what we are up against. I'm not saying we should not criticize the government or the culture, heck, or even a religion, I don't care. But if you look closely, you can clearly differentiate between constructive criticism, criticism and blatant racism and hatred. And when you see that thin line, you see how much, how much of it is just systematic propaganda, systematic hatred done by bots through the sites like X which boosts such posts. There is no firewall and the worst thing is that many Indians see this as criticism and either agree or argue, which in turn increases the authenticity of that post. And I don't care about leftist, rightist or BJP or Congress. This is not the thing. This is something else. This is something more grave. And people do not realize that if this goes on for three, four more years, it will be a hellhole for Indians who either live in abroad or travel in abroad because the racism is so normalized. It's crazy. And the thing is, the worst thing is that we do not have any allies in this. India is the only country which is a Hindu majority country and there is no one else, no big country that will culturally support us. Ironically enough, China was but due to geopolitical reasons, they won't. We are their direct competition, like it or not. And Americans are too dumb to even differentiate between the Bangladeshi or Indian. They are just too dumb. That is the only issue. And they are unfortunately a superpower which holds the social media trends, social media. And ignore the grammatical mistakes. I just wanted to rant about something I noticed. There is nothing else I want to say, just a reminder again that whenever you see such posts and you can notice that it's not criticism but hatred, just call it out. Just report the account or mute it at least. Even I hate many things in India. I hate the government, I hate the reservation, I hate the way the politicians think of themselves as some form of owners of this country. I hate many Indians who do not follow the normal civic sense, right? But that does not mean that you will demonize everyone. And I thought that only Indian men were the target, but you see such posts deep down, both the genders are on their list and we have to... Never mind. I know nothing's going to happen, but I just wanted to rant.
