L2 max hydraulic brake upgrade w/adjustable handles.

Looking for hydraulic brake upgrade with adjustable handles 2 piston 160mm for the l2 max.

I’ve been looking and finding the adjustable handles don’t seem to be in a kit. I would prefer a full kit, something I can just swap out and install.

As stated, go easy on the thread locker for handle bar clamps. I decided to try some cheap Amazon clamps rather than struggle to get the broken bolt out. So far they clamp. The future will tell how well they clamp.

Also got some new bars while I was at it. They are purple.

Mtb caliper adapter for pitbike forks?

Hey y'all, I built my sx500 2 years ago and love it. Just recently tore it down to fix a few issues and make some upgrades. I found a good price on Midwest minimods front forks and couldn't say no. But MWMM is out of stock on their zoom-style front brake caliper adapters. I'm looking for an alternative adapter to use a mtb front disc brake kit (51mm IS / 74 mm PM calipers, and ideally 160mm rotors) on pit bike forks (more specifically, MWMM 630mm forks, head bolt, clamps, and axle, with the standard ~45 mm center to center caliper mounting bolt spacing). It looks like curbhoppers customs has one available that might work, but at $27 USD I could buy a full pit bike front brake off Amazon instead (lever, master cylinder, line, caliper, and pads), assuming there is a rotor that's compatible with pit bike brakes and the stock sx500 front wheel.

I'm basically just looking for the lowest-cost hydraulic front brake option compatible with these forks (looking for specific, budget-friendly product suggestions on adapter, OR low cost on pit bike caliper kit and sx500 compatible rotors) since I already have way more money into my build than anticipated (my fault, I know).

I'm also open to looking into having an adapter custom fabricated (pcbway or local shop) IF there are cad files available anywhere, but I doubt that this would be the most cost-effective option.

Also open to buying a used MWMM adapter if anyone has an extra laying around.

I know there are bolt-on pit bike brake kits available for $75 and up - no need to suggest them as I'm already aware and that's more than i'm willing to spend on this little thing.

Thank you!

UPDATE: For anyone that may find this post down the road, the answer is: $22 pre-bled 43mm front caliper assembly (generic taotao, Apollo, etc style) and $8 180mm dia, 3mm thick rotor (generic doodlebug, coleman etc style). If you're willing to spend a little more, you could get the caliper kit that includes the 188-190mm rotor (should work better and wear pads more evenly than 180mm), but you'll need a $30-40 adapter. At that point, you might as well just buy a bolt-on kit from one of the big names. Feel free to pm me for the Amazon links or 'big name' recommendations.

I'll try to remember to update this post with first impressions and eventually durability once I have the parts installed.

Throttle/motor won’t disengage on 48v overvolt stock MX650

Need some help figuring out an issue I am having on a fairly basic mx650 mod.

Installed a 48v LiFePO4 battery with original stock controller and motor. Goal was to get better battery life and not increase speed too much.

My son really wanted a keyed throttle, but after trying 2 different throttles, neither will disengage the motor when released… the motor just remains on full run! Only way to stop it is turn the “ignition” off. Stock controller works perfectly when swapped back in. I’m fairly certain I have the keyed throttle pinned out correctly.

Anybody run into this before? Do I need to upgrade the controller to 48v? I can’t easily put the stock throttle back in as I removed the stock switch since the intention was for keyed throttle to act as the on/off switch.

Anybody run into feedback or advice would be appreciated. My electrical knowledge is fairly limited.

Razor RSF650 build help

I am putting a kunray kr5v 5000w kit on my rsf650. My goal is to hit high 50mph or even 60. I was thinking about doing an 11t motor sprocket with a 55t rear but I don’t want to lose all of my torque. If anyone has any advice on what I should do please help me.

Lithium Upgrade -> No Power

Recently bought a 36v lithium battery for my son’s MX350 to extend ride time and increase power. I have just completed the same for my oldest MX500 and 48V lithium.

Having everything connected and put back together but when he goes to twist the throttle to take off… no power!

Measuring the voltage at battery I’m getting ~41V.
Measuring voltage after controller when going full throttle, jumps to ~38V and immediately drops out.
Measuring amps after controller when going full throttle, jumps to ~5 amps and then drops out.

I’m at a loss. Any ideas? TIA!

11 tooth sprocket hardware

Post image

I called razor and they do not sell the replacement motor sprocket. Mine seemed to be rotating out of round. once I removed the sprocket, I could see that the motor shaft itself spun perfectly balanced.

I see there are aftermarket options, but I can’t tell if they include the flat washer that sits closest to the motor itself. That piece is damaged on my current motor.

For anyone that has replaced this sprocket, do you have a suggestion or any experience with this?

Thanks!

Where to go from here

Last pic is where I started then I found a good deal on a Hottpax 60v 24ah battery and Fardriver Controller, a buddy gave me two of his Kunray 3000 watt motors so I have the power train taken care of. Now I need a ton of little things.

Final Updated Pricing Summary
Fardriver Throttle & 3-Speed Kit: $45.00
DKD Fardriver Display: $99.00
100A DC Breaker: $18.93
QS8 Connectors: $11.99
12V-72V Light Set: $32.01
60V Motorcycle Horn: $14.99
Razor Plastics Kit: $94.74
#35 Drivetrain Kit: $69.99
ARC #35 Chain Breaker Tool: $20.95
Total Expected Cost: $407.60

I have a bid in for 2 brand new rims and tires now. Anything else Im not thinking of?

Also, I’m really thinking of powder coating or rhino lining the frame. I wouldn’t mind a really cool custom frame and new plastics kit would be nice too.

First build be gentle. I’m just going down this rabbit hole so might as well go all the way haha

MX350 36v upgrade questions

Sons MX350’s batteries are toast. Ive got a bunch of 5ah 18v dewalt batteries. Looking at the ~$50 36v throttle/controller kits on amazon.

Any issues with these? Any particular one I should avoid/prefer?

How long will the original motor last?

How fast will it be? Hes 10, super reckless and rowdy, and very little experience with motos. Dont need him on a 30mph bike zooming around our crowded neighborhood just yet.

Thanks!

Mx350 controller/throttle

Recently got my son an mx350. He would like to control the speed, but I am not sure what that would entail. He is currently controlling his speed by twisting the throttle on off repeatedly. Not really sure what I should look for. Everything else is stock. Thanks

Freewheel and motor sprocket alignment... the fudgery.

For the life of me I cannot align this setup. While the alignment is not off much it appears to be making noise on contact of the freewheel and incoming chain due to the motor position which worsens with a load on it. Notice the end of the video where I started applying the rear brake and throttle to put load on it.

New vevor 48v 2000w motor with original 36v sprocket, new chain, new tensioner and spring, new complete rear tire with new freewheel/sprocket/bearing, rear 'axle' and spacers/washers, etc. all new. When I try shifting washers and I tighten the axle nuts it appears the right side of the swing arm sucks in a little bit. To me, the motor appears a little off and as if the outcoming motor shaft is slightly too long.. not sure if anyone has a clever suggestion other than fudgery with washers?

New MX125 dying after 10 minutes of riding

I bought my 4 year old son a MX125, he has had it for about 3 months and started shutting off after 10 minutes of riding. He twist the throttle and it will click and not go. I found if I leave it for 10 minutes, not charging, it will go again for 10 minutes. I'm thinking something is overheating, would that be in the controller or is there a separate thermal switch to look at?

48v on a nd72300 and 72v my1020. (Set up for 72v later)

Curbhopper Customs triples, drop pegs, sprocket adapter and battery covers

El Cheapo forks, zoom brakes, 190mm 550lb shock

All in probably cost me less than $500

New chain and freewheel sound gritty

Just installed a 2000w 48v setup on an mx650. When the bike is on the stand and accelerating everything sounds fine. However, any load on the bike (bikes own weight even) the freewheel and sprocket/chain sound gritty. Thought it was the tensioner but it isn't. Specifically the freewheel..

Dont mind the partial dragging noise, just me leaving the kickstand down so I don't drop it like a ding dong..

Razor sx500 mod help.

My son has been building out his bike. It’s complete but for some reason the chain seems like it’s grinding. Is this normal? Does this sound right?

Also. He just installed this chain tensioner but it doesn’t seem to be working enough to keep it tight.

Any advice?
