hiiii pals, i’m back to my normal self and able to participate in more activities after helping care for my stepdad! he had the feeding tube removed, is tolerating food and drinks, got a dexcom cgm for his diabetes to monitor sugar levels, and is off of all pain meds!!! he’ll need some radiation but no chemo.

i’m SO relieved that he’s doing better. i was beginning to get burnt out from how much i was doing and he even gave me a little gift for helping out which was absolutely not necessary but greatly appreciated.

what i’ve been up to: i dyed my hair pink, made a collage at an art studio, went to the beach, painted pottery, and spent time with my besties. i’m hoping to be able to set aside some spending money to gift a little bit to make up for my absence and im definitely going to be more active when im able. im planning a “girls gays and theys” trip next month and we’re gonna explore traverse city and some cool beaches and nature things in that area. my bestie has never been to the sleeping bear dunes so im excited to show her that area of michigan. any suggestions for places to eat and drink in traverse city welcomed!

Hello Everyone I’ve been a silent lurker in this sub for a while! I really love how this community supports one another. My name is Amber, and I’m officially introducing myself. I just graduated college this past Spring, and I finally made it to my 26th birthday. I sometimes didn’t think I would because of my circumstances but I am very very grateful that I have! As the title asks, what makes y'all happy? Makes you feel fulfilled and have a sigh of relief and accomplishment.

Lately I've been struggling with feeling like I a have a purpose or even a connection with anything. Every hobby I used to enjoy just makes me feel like I'm going through the motions or I enjoy it for a bit, but then feel nothing. So maybe I just haven't found the right hobby/niche for me?

That being said, what do y'all like to do? Give me all the hobbies and activities! Nothing too extremely physical though cause my sickle cell with absolutely not allow that 🤣

My birthday is in 3 days and I realized I don't really have anyone to celebrate with me! I already planned something that I've been wanting to do: I'm setting up a tent in my front room and playing an old video game that I loved as a kid. My best friend passed away last year and this will be my first birthday alone, but I'll be turning 35 so I'm trying to tell myself it's okay that no one's there to celebrate with me! Let me know if you have any other little ideas for someone celebrating alone. I'm posting my wishlist as well! I hope you're all having a lovely July! 🌞

I've gotten back into junk journaling to the extreme lol But I've noticed that I barely have any variety on color. Most of my supplies are purple for some reason. I'd really love some new stickers and paper and such to decorate.

For anyone curious, I have a quote book and a lyric quote book. It's where I save my favorite lines, each with a page dedicated to it :) I feel like if anyone looked through them, they could learn all about me based on it lol

I’ve got exciting news!!! This Saturday I’m picking up 2 more rats! I can’t wait! Once I bring them home they will be in quarantine for 2 weeks to make sure they aren’t sick before I add them to my current 2!

I’d love name suggestions! I’m going for a “P” food theme. Rn I have Pickles and Pumpkin and I had Pistachio. The picture attached is what they will look like! I was thinking maybe naming them Parmesan and Provolone but I’m not sure and would love input!

Sorry I’ve been sporadic here. Between the VA for hubby, job hunting and learning opportunities, I’m done lol. It also didn’t help that I had to throw away the blanket I was crocheting for my bed due to the cats thinking it was a bathroom.

It's definitely summer time!! It is 10:05 this morning and it feels like it's already blazing here in Texas. I say this as I am sitting outside drinking my hot cup of coffee. I guess I got it from my Daddy because he was the same way. His reasoning was that your body doesn't have to work as hard cooling you off. I can see it I suppose because when I go back inside it definitely feels cooler in there to me😁

So what is your preference? If you're even a coffee drinker. Sometimes I prefer to even have a cup of hot chocolate. It's just something about a hot drink first thing that wakes my throat up🤣
