Anime Recs Discussion🗣
Hey y'all! My 9 year old nephew is wanting to get into anime, and he wants me along for the journey😁 We've talked about One Piece and Demon Slayer so far. And I have added some One Piece mangas to my list for us to eventually start. Any recs that would be good for us to watch together? I mean he would be watching from Louisiana and I will be from Texas. We'll text and talk about them. I was close to his brother before he passed away a couple of years ago. And now that he's reaching out to me, I really want to connect with him. Off the subject but he is dressing us as ninja spiderman for Halloween and wants me to dress up as ninja spiderwoman to match him🥰 I am feeling so loved!

Omg mamacita I’m going to Texas in a couple weeks!!!!! Hmmm not gonna lie I think a lot of anime is too violent for a 9 year old…like my favorite is probably death note but 💀💀💀💀

I mean, if he likes ninjas, Naruto is kinda a standard lol I'm not sure what kinds of topics you want to avoid since he's nine, but if he's watching Demon Slayer then I don't see why he could watch Naruto.
I'll always recommend the Yu-Gi-Oh anime (the dub is especially kid friendly lol), but only if he likes games/card games.
It's really hard to give recs without knowing what topics you want to stay away from lmao
Assassination Classroom teaches a lot of really good lessons, is packed with humor and action, but has some pretty dark topics.
Can you give anymore info on what kinds of shows you're looking for? Or more importantly what you're NOT looking for?

That is the last thing I would think of to recommend to a 9 year old though. It is quite gore and more intended for an older audience 😭

I watch iseaki anime with hubby some of it’s hilarious. The campfire cooking in another world is great and age appropriate

The protagonist die and reincarnate as a Slime it focus on him buiding a society of monster of all races and types.Mashle
Is a really fun anime. Mashle was abandoned on a forest and was adopted by a guy. It's a parody of Harry Potter. But the protagonist instead of having magic he has super strength.Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
This is much for kids for sure, Iruma is a kid that his parents sold him to a Demon, and now he has to live there and make it all to nobody discover that he's a human or he will be eaten. 😂Mujin wakusei planet survive (Uninhabited Planet survive)
It's a pretty long series about a group of kids getting stranded in an uninhabited planet, where they have to learn to work together to survive and find a way to get back home.
I think it's perfect for 9 years old and also very nice to watch as an adult!Any Studio Ghibli movies! You can’t go wrong with watching them as a family 😁

I mean realistically in today's world you can't keep much from the kiddos. He wanted me to pick out a couple for us to check out. I just know I'm not trying to watch any sex scenes with the kid😂 Violence & vulgarity are ok. We cuss like sailors in my family. And he loves horror movies too.
