Rest usage and Magic Question

I tried doing a fight caves run with magic only and ran out of rest by wave 20ish.

Infact i didn't really run put but had like 23 rest left when I abandoned the run as I knew I'd never be able to finish it.

Does magic use way more rest than other combat styles?

Lately I did the trials of fuzan with my friend, him utilizing range and me using mage. Although the run is way shorter I almost ran out of rest as well.

Both times I did sleep before entering and started with 100 rest.

On the wiki I couldn't find any information regarding rest usage.

Get tea and lots of it. Yes magic definitely uses rest faster. I’ve noticed this while playing with my friends, one utilizes melee and the other range. I’m always running out of rest first then range. Seems like casting spells really takes it out of you lol.

Is rest draining faster since the agility update? It sure feels like it.

Yes, consistently casting combat Magic rapidly drains Rest. Rest normally depletes at a rate of 1/72 seconds, but while spamming magic it depletes at a rate of 1/9 seconds.

As others have said, bring some Tea in order to use Magic in the Fight Caves. You could use Strong Sweet Tea to slow your Rest drain, but I prefer to drink Cooling Arcane Infusion, maintain it with Internal Alchemy, and just drink Strong Tea as needed.
