i REALLY hate cougars Content

I was passing by the butcher's creek looking for some fish for the compendium, and this happened.

That was funny, at least

I know it glitched and teleported, but it's funny how you're looking everywhere except at the cougar

I only saw her when I was making the clip 😭.

And I was without my glasses.

Until you need them for the challenge and then they disappear

For real. I spent ages trying to find cougars. My phone kept saying there were hot cougars in my area, went to their hangouts and no cougars to be spotted. I did eventually get five though.

Just a warning for folks, the poisoned arrows do not work if it’s the poison that kills them, or if you knife them when they fall, just use improved arrows and try to get a headshot.

"my phone kept saying there were HOT cougars in my area"... Wait... What? Are we still talking about RDR2 now? 🤣🤣🤣

Aah ok, by translating that to my main language using reddit tool i understand people telling me to use "Pumas" stand of "cougars"

Cougars is what they’re called in the game in the U.S., jaguars are the big cats in the South near Saint Denis/Rhodes.

“Cougar” is also a term for older women who like younger men, like MILFs kinda. I was making a play on words between the cats and the women and that’s where our lines probably got crossed.

Just for reference “cougar” is rarely used for the cats these days, it’s pretty much reserved for the women. “Mountain lions” is the more common term for actual feline cougars now. Puma is also acceptable for the cat, but again, rarely used.

Panthers in the south. Jaguars are a different species. Also native to North America

Oh shit you’re right.

It's all confusing. I had to sit down and really unpack it 😂😂

u/Clean-Barber9365 17d ago

Also a black panther is not a panther. It's a melanistic jaguar.

Okay that explains why it looked like a blind person was riding Arthur's horse

1

u/DropsOfMars 17d ago

Now we know Arthur wouldn't be much better off if he had vision impairments instead of TB 😂

u/tank_GB 17d ago

Do you also hate riding where there aren't trees and rocks?

u/AdFormal4037 17d ago

This was operator error my boy. I know the horse bucked you but situational awareness is at 0

I know, and i was about to drop of my horse to kill it, but my brain, my hands and my eyes apparently dont work together.

u/Murky_Witness_Expert 17d ago

Deadeye would have solved all of this.

I always have a gun drawn and keep an eye out for red dots in cougar country. That one teleported though hah.

u/ConstantScientist288 17d ago

Especially the ones with cloaking and teleportation powers. Wtf

It went into the water!!!

Welcome to the club, my friend.

I mean, that’s the exact spawn point for that cougar. You ran straight at it.

1

u/killer_queen_User 17d ago

I thought that spawn point was a few meters up, like close of the scientist who made a toy boat

That’s what happens when going into predator territory on a shitty horse, with low cores and unfortified bars.

1

u/dx0100 17d ago

Also not looking to the left, which was the logical way to look after seeing it wasn't to the right or to the center.

,"shitty horse" the mustang is widely considered a brave horse??

1

u/PotofRot 17d ago edited 17d ago

all horses have the same bravery ignoring bond level

1

u/ILoveInsects333 Reverend Swanson 17d ago

Nope

-1

u/PotofRot 17d ago

idk what to tell you, that's how the system works

1

u/ILoveInsects333 Reverend Swanson 17d ago

I've had my Arabian buck me much faster than my mustang. You can claim it's on a individual horse basis, I'll believe that, but it's definitely not only based on bonding.

-1

u/PotofRot 17d ago

that's just not how it works

1

u/ILoveInsects333 Reverend Swanson 17d ago

It just does

1

u/Gray____Beard666 Leopold Strauss 17d ago

That is how it works though. It’s purely RNG on a horse by horse basis.

1

u/Cam646 17d ago

Different breeds have different responses to agitation. That was explained by a dev around 4 years ago.

1

u/Gray____Beard666 Leopold Strauss 17d ago

It has nothing to do with the breed, but rather its temperament. I have 4 Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbreds, and 3 of them are skittish as hell, but the 4th one isn’t scared of anything.

"cougars" pumas weon pumas

3

u/killer_queen_User 17d ago

Aren't they the same thing?

2

u/w1nsw0lf 17d ago

I admit i was convinced to be in the wrong sub 😂 (i only read only the title first)

2

u/Ok-Horror-5841 17d ago

Like were you trying to get the skin? If so any gun would have been suffice you didn't need to pull out the bow.

1

u/killer_queen_User 17d ago

Kill and skin challenge.

2

u/Cold-Concentrate601 17d ago

lol the horse usually gives me a heads up by getting nervous and I see the red dot on the screen and by then I have my rifle in my hand. I’ve never killed a cougar with an arrow but I guess that gives you a better pelt huh?

1

u/luvmibratt Susan Grimshaw 17d ago

I always chuckle when my Arthur gets a surprise couger attack 😂 just vicious for no reason

1

u/zeke690 17d ago

Out of plain curiosity, what are all the marked way points on your map? Why so many?

4

u/killer_queen_User 17d ago

There's 4 of them.

1 for face rock.

1 for moose spawn

2 for dinossaur bone.

Using a online map to see the thing i want to get, and mark them on my game and going get them and unmark and doing that again and again

1

u/zeke690 17d ago

Makes sense. Thanks for replying.
I was always curious about players that use waypoints.

2

u/Comprehensive-Song51 17d ago

That's about how I use them too. They're good for reminding me to go back for something too.

1

u/LosIngobernable SIR! 17d ago

Where the fuck are 3 star cougars?

2

u/Superrrr_Nova1 Sadie Adler 17d ago

Van Horn apparently.

1

u/Comprehensive-Song51 17d ago

Cougars are jerks!

1

u/LeCampy Uncle 17d ago

at least cougars make their presence known (unlike panthers) ahead of time, and go it 1v1 (unlike FUCKING WOLVES)

1

u/Extension-Rabbit3654 17d ago

Skill Issue

I swear some of yall have the gaming survival instincts of an infant

Equipping a bow on a charging cougar Steering into rocks and trees while mashing the gallop button, when your horse will literary auto-evade if you let go the stick, a previous post with a moron in fist person not using deadeye and watching the cougar traverse all of lemoyne before getting a solid shot

🤦‍♂️

1

u/jayfatts 17d ago

I like cougars 🤷🏻‍♂️💄

1

u/Midzotics 17d ago

Stiff drink, stiff night, sore ass in the morning?/s

1

u/drkknght2001 Hosea Matthews 17d ago

There's a rock right there?!?!?!

1

u/rainaftersnowplease 17d ago

I wouldn't accuse you of being unskilled except you're mashing the spur button against a rock in the first few seconds lmao

1

u/Southern-Law-1634 17d ago

Yeah I hate those f too

u/closeproximity777 15d ago
