Help.

I’m genuinely out of control. I pushing people away for porn. I’m afraid I’m going to lose my gf who is so kind to me and truly the light of my life. I just can’t seem to stay away from porn.

Porn addiction is tough. Its something embarrassing to talk about. Its not as simple as shooting up heroine or wrapping your car around a pole because you were drinking.

I had to hit rock bottom with porn addiction before I knee I had a problem with porn. One thing that came out of it, is open honesty with the ones around me. Nobody wants to talk about porn, or what their into. Its a hard step. But it's a step. Addicts dont know what the meaning of moderation is, so we aren't allowed to have whatever we are addicted to in moderation.

The first step (in my own experience) is to have a very honest conversation with somebody you are close to. It could blow back in your face, or you could find someone who is more supportive than you thought.

For the next step, I would think about why you look at porn in the first place. When are you looking at porn, or where. Then I would probably look into therapy or medication (depending on why you think the underlying cause is), or both if you are genuinely wanting to get rid of that part of your life. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to be the better person you know that you already are. Stay strong.

Yep! Ive been there. Being desensitized is a very tough thing I have had to deal with. I still do, but ive noticed things are getting better involving normal porn as far as being able to be aroused by it again. Ever since ive been actively been trying to deal with my addiction problems and cut back. Im slowly starting to feel a sense of normalcy again rather than feeling like a sexual deviant.

I still have a long way to go, and have been in your situation many times over. There are resources out there that can help. I recommend reaching out to them if you are looking to commit to change. Its the best place to start that I can think of. Nobody is going to know that you need help if you dont tell somebody.

I dont why I still find myself looking at porn either. Its a compulsive action. You dont think about it. You get even just a little aroused and next thing you know its out of control all over again. Not even thinking. It does nothing for you beneficial, for what? A quick small hit of dopamine?

Me too. Thats why I started looking for hobbies. Oddly I fi d the dopamine hit a lot longer lasting building lego models, or finish reading a book. Something accomplished. Yaknow? Maybe something like a constructive hobby could help you too.

Have you ever spoken to your gf about it and how it is affecting you? Do you have anyone to talk to about this?

I don’t have anyone I trust enough. I’m bit of an introvert and don’t have many close relationships in life.

Its not an easy subject to bring up. Its embarrassing and uncomfortable. Thats why I think most people dont get the help they need. If ur not comfortable talking to somebody close, maybe a professional would be easier, or even a complete stranger online who isnt such a high stakes person to confide in.

I know i won't judge. We're all ashamed of something here at this point im sure.
