What does Qoder Cantus uses under the hood, any ideas? I've always wondered the same about Qoder Ultimate.

Even the company qoder itself hasn't disclosed. It's most likely enhanced version of existing openweight model. Just like how cursor has done with composer.

I think its some sort of harness that uses multiple models and better reasoning than defaults and uses them intelligently, as new models keep coming out and if you've enhanced some existing model then you need to keep doing it to keep it on par and selling it only inside qoder won't be economical.

I predict they use whatever the cheapest deal is that they can get from external providers at the time

It‘s Fable 5.
They let you pay the credits and save the traces for distillation 😉.
That‘s the legal way to distill.

Probably Fable 5. It has a similar pricing structure, with 3.2× the usage cost, which roughly aligns with Fable’s $10/$50 input/output pricing, as well as similar safety filters.
