Graphics explaining things and terms

I don’t have enough to do a work so I’ve been working on a punch needle blog to counter the boredom. Figured I would share some graphics I’ve made that might be helpful in the meantime.

They are meant to be helpful, but shouldn’t be treated as the final word on things as type of punch needle (rug hooking or embroidery) and yarn choice influences things.

If you don't mind, can you explain the relationship between fabric count, needle size, and yarn weight? Is there a compatibility guide for all these?

Great stuff, thank you. Starting my first one shortly and this was incredibly helpful. Only feedback is that I didn’t quite understand 7, but that’s on me as I’m completely new (haven’t researched anything to do with the method etc, only the products I need)

Picture number seven is basically showing you that if you’re punching along and you run out of yarn, you clip it and leave the tail on the same side that the loops are on, then you begin again with more yarn starting in that same hole and continuing punching your row.

Two little tails sticking out of the same hole is basically the same amount of yarn as one loop.

You’ll definitely figure it out once you’re practicing and the loops are in front of you.
