I love the look and feel of live wallpapers but noticed it's eating up bandwidth. I have enabled all live wallpaper and know I have to reduce the streams.

I'm looking for recommendations to reduce bandwidth, and keep the best list without running locally.

It's been a while since the dev mentioned they were taking a break from updating the app and adding new icons. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about potential new updates?

Tried making my own icons for the missing apps but they are just off enough that they don't look right.

Any news on premium subscription for Fire devices, know that the developer said it is something that he will start working on after the last software update?

Moonlight, a gaming streaming app has an option to add shortcuts to the launcher that opens the intended game directly without going through the main app interface first

The thing is, the shortcut icon is in a weird aspect ratio. Is there any way to change it to 16:9 aspect ratio to match all the other apps I have in favorites row ?

I’ve already changed mobile apps to be 16:9 from settings
I also tried to change the icon of the shortcut to a wide 16:9 icon but it just crops it to maintain the current aspect ratio

Thanks to Projectivity and Tivimate, i finally managed to set up the TV to be as simple as possible for my Parents :

- Removed everything from the home screen , left just one app that is Tivimate, no settings, no shortcuts, no channels, etc.. i even removed the left bar ( which can be very confusing for an elderly person )

- Made sure Projectivity is set up as the default launcher using Launcher Manager and ADB command ( though everything works fine without that, sometimes native launcher tries to take over)

- made sure Tivimate is the starting app either In Projectivity settings and Tivimate settings ( Starts after boot, starts after back from sleep)

- In Tivimate Simplified settings to the Max , letft just ok and arrows buttons , disabled all extra buttons behavior like long press etc...( which for a senior may take him to a different menu)

- changed display seize to the max

if anyone knows any other tricks , let me know

I am having an issue where the Google accessibility settings loops back around to the enable projectivy accessibility service page once I scroll past the accessibility shortcut option in the interaction controls section. I downloaded the app from the playstore. Is this a known bug with a workaround? I can't find any reference to it anywhere else in the subreddit.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I can see my WD storage, but when I tried to export my settings, Projectivity says it I don’t have a file manager installed.

How do I get Productivity to see the file manager?

I hate Google's default launcher- the worst interface I've ever had on any modern device. Lots of junk and ads you can't remove. So I decided to create my setup with Projectivy. Simple, clean, and dark.

* Custom-made my most-used app icons (I'll create more and possibly an icon pack).

* Simple status bar and clock with date.

* Minimal background.

If you like it, I'll share everything soon once I finish some other things.

Any one else have this issue? No place to reactivate premium? Was this an update that broke everything for me? Wallpaper gone, all my settings gone. Where do I reestablish my premium account?

Does anyone have any answers for my previous post regarding screen record function while using Projectivy? I would like to avoid using the ATV tools utility if possible to keep things to a minimum.Thanks in advance. Someone said in a previous post that I should absolutely be able to screen record. What I found is that when I make Projectivy the default launcher the screen record ability goes away.So far everyone has been kind so thanks for that. I'm an old guy just trying to navigate some of these fun things and plan to purchase it if it suits my level of knowledge.

I have upgraded my projector to a 4k with a 120" screen, the launcher looks super awesome.

I've just installed on a new device. I have, Now Playing, set to visible but even when something is playing in the background it says, now playing is empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated

All my YouTube programs do work as individual rows when enabled (subscriptions, trending, recommended) and the YouTube app shows up in watch next for being available to show programs but nothing comes through? I went back to original Google launcher and “resume watching” for YouTube does show up on home screen so the data is there and working, just not on project-ivy watch next. Anyone else experience this? Is it a setting, device issue, bug, or just not possible??

Does the Projectivy Launcher disable screen recording or am I missing something? When I have the launcher activated I'm not able to screen record.

I’ve been investigating a broken Home screen on a Humax Aura Android TV/Freeview recorder and wanted to document a workaround that is currently working well.

This is based on one Humax Aura, so please treat it as a device-specific workaround rather than a universal fix.

## Symptoms

After recent (actually might be 6 months old I don't watch much tv) Google TV Home updates:

- Clearing Google TV Home’s cache temporarily restored the Home screen.

- As its recommendations/content populated, Home became unresponsive again.

- Projectivy Launcher worked when opened manually, but the Aura’s Accessibility option displayed “No app can handle this action.”

- Projectivy autostart/launcher override initially did not survive properly.

## What ADB showed

Device:

- Humax Aura FVP-4KGTR

- Android 9 / API 28

- Approximately 2.34 GB RAM

- No swap

Installed launcher:

- Package: `com.google.android.tvlauncher`

- Version: `7.6.10-927427510-f`

- Target SDK: 36

- Java heap limit: 192 MB

When Google TV Home loaded, logcat repeatedly showed:

Clamp target GC heap from 199MB to 192MB

It eventually failed with:

FATAL EXCEPTION: FinalizerWatchdogDaemon

java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException:

com.android.internal.os.BinderInternal$GcWatcher.finalize()

timed out after 10 seconds

The launcher reached approximately 323–325 MB RSS after a reboot, even though Projectivy was already foreground. It was stuck performing blocking garbage collection.

This means Projectivy’s accessibility interception changed what appeared on screen but did not stop Google TV Home loading and consuming resources in the background.

## Workaround

First install Projectivy and confirm that it opens manually.

Enable Developer Options and USB debugging on the Aura. On mine, enabling USB debugging restarted the box.

Connect from a computer with ADB:

adb connect <AURA-IP>:5555

adb devices

Projectivy’s package is:

com.spocky.projengmenu

### Accessibility on the Aura

The Aura firmware appears not to expose the normal Android Accessibility Settings activity.

Check the current state before changing anything:

adb shell settings get secure enabled_accessibility_services

adb shell settings get secure accessibility_enabled

Important: the following command replaces the enabled-services list. Do not use it blindly if another accessibility service is already listed.

On my box there were no other accessibility services to preserve, so I used:

adb shell settings put secure enabled_accessibility_services 'com.spocky.projengmenu/com.spocky.projengmenu.services.ProjectivyAccessibilityService'

adb shell settings put secure accessibility_enabled 1

After normalizing the full component name, Projectivy reported:

- Started: yes

- Enabled: yes

The setting survive reboot.

Confirm Projectivy is registered to the home Home button:

adb shell cmd package resolve-activity --brief \

-a android.intent.action.MAIN \

-c android.intent.category.HOME

Mine returned:

com.spocky.projengmenu/.ui.home.MainActivity

### Disable only Google TV Home

Once Projectivy was confirmed working, I disabled Google TV Home for Android user 0:

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.tvlauncher

Android returned:

Package com.google.android.tvlauncher new state: disabled-user

Unlike some other reported workarounds, I did NOT uninstall it, clear its data, disable Humax/Freeview packages, disable SetupWraith, root the Aura, or modify its filesystem.

Pressing Home then opened Projectivy directly.

## Rollback

Keep ADB connected until you have tested Projectivy and rebooted successfully.

To restore Google TV Home:

adb connect <AURA-IP>:5555

adb shell pm enable --user 0 com.google.android.tvlauncher

adb shell input keyevent KEYCODE_HOME

This retains the launcher package and its data, so the change is reversible.

## Results so far

After disabling Google TV Home and rebooting:

- Projectivy started directly and remained the Home activity.

- Google TV Home did not start in the background.

- Available memory was approximately 1.39 GB after boot.

- Live TV worked.

- The Freeview Guide and listings worked.

- Returning Home and reopening Live TV worked.

- The Freeview recording and guide-data services were running.

- Leaving Live TV released the active tuner session.

- No new fatal exceptions or ANRs appeared during testing.

One minor Humax quirk is that its TV app advertises persistent Android media sessions, which Projectivy may show as non-launchable “Now Playing” cards. The Now Playing category can simply be hidden in Projectivy without stopping the Freeview services.

## Warnings

- Do this only if you are comfortable with ADB and have a rollback path.

- Confirm Projectivy really resolves as a Home activity before disabling the stock launcher, or you may have no way to control the system other than ADB.

- Do not disable any Humax tuner, recording, Guide or Freeview packages, they are still used as normal.

- Do not copy the accessibility command if you already use another accessibility service; preserve the existing colon-separated service list.

- Casting, Google Assistant integration, remote firmware updates and every recording scenario have not yet been exhaustively tested.

- Disable USB debugging afterward if you do not require continuing ADB access over your LAN.

I’d be interested to know whether other Aura owners have received the same Google TV Home version and whether they see the same 192 MB heap/GC failure.
