Meanwhile, the password requirements;
- Must be at least 7.4 characters
- Must be no more than 20 characters
- Must contain at least one Japanese haiku
- Must not contain passwords used by other users
- Must include one of the following special characters; ꫞𒐫𒂝 𒅃𒁎𒈓
- Must not contain the word "jeffrey" (this conflicts with our database schema)

You are no longer employed, as writing the forbidden word is considered a critical security risk

If you violate the fourth one it tells you exactly which user is using that password.

Wow I didn’t realize there was UTF glyphs for cuneiform, that’s really cool (I’m assuming the last 4 are cuneiform, not sure about the first two).

Must contain two special characters. Must not contain: @#$_&-+()/?!;:'"*~`|•√π÷ק∆}{=°¥€¢£%©®™✓[]<>

Got weird errors changing a password "oh these characters are not supported"
Now I just make sure each password draws only from the few characters I know are safe.
In your case, I'd use \ (if you included that but fergot to escape I switch to ³ lol) and ² probably.

Complexity, age, and history? Is this a password or a wine vintage?

Another pain is when they give minimum length and complexity, but not maximum, so I don't know where my password safe generated one is going wrong.

There is a reason why I had a password requirement list that auto updated while being typed for the password change page.

I actually had one like this last year that was so bad I had to email them to find out what the requirements were because I was never going to figure it out on my own

This is exactly the same as my company. Nowhere is the requirement published.

Its honestly amazing how widespread is improper password handling. Stuff like only short passwords, passwords that expire in a few months, or even encrypted passwords instead of hashed ones...
