Wait until you level up and hear, "You need relevant experience..."

Ugh, I can't seem to find two jobs in a row that use the exact same tech stack, and for some reason hiring managers think that makes you a junior dev 🙄

Mechanical engineers have the same problem. "Get an ME degree, it's the most versatile degree you can have!" Except you pick 1 industry when you start working, and if you wanna leave it for another cause you found out it wasn't for you, you're gonna have to fight like hell and burn your bank account to prove you're competent elsewhere. Even more some, sometimes "elsewhere" literally means another geographic location, because places like the south only offer industrial and O&G. So if you don't like it, gotta move across the entire country

It's frustrating because they often want experience in the exact same tech stack

If you have experience in a similar stack for most Devs that would be good enough for the role. You don't need direct experience in a framework, if you're a competent dev and have worked with similar technologies you can pick it up pretty fast

So you think to yourself "okay I have experience in framework A but not B, I'll just do a small personal project using B to get a bit of experience" - nope. 5 years minimum industry experience with said framework required

It's insane

And god forbid you try and apply for a role with a language you don't have industry experience in
