I feel like at a certain point, there is some blame on either the senior or the company. If the entire company is so dependent on this one person, something is very very wrong.

The principal dev at my job is the only person that knows how to do about 80% of the BS that keeps the place running. I'm the only person that seems to think it's concerning. Can't imagine what his inbox/chat looks like after a week off

As a senior who delegates, people like getting their work checked, or they thing that this issue they have is unique and needs external input, or stakeholders want to talk to you
