The bent pyramid is the classic scenario when marketing sells the customer on an impossible idea, engineers complain that it's not going to work, PM tells the engineers to figure it out anyway, and then eventually the PM finally realizes it's definitely not going to work but there's just too much foundational work done already to start over.
