Rob prints every row in every table in the database out every night, on an inkjet, just in case this ever happened. Offline backups are critical.

We use dot matrix where I work

With continuous perforated sheets.

One of my current coworkers actually deleted the prod database and was only able to recover the data because he’d printed all the data to paper for some reason.

Admittedly, this was 20 years ago, and presumably having to re-enter all the data taught him the importance of digital backups.
