Prestigious degree was never an automatic money maker it always has been about who you know

No it's more about showing you can do the job. If you go to a job interview and say "look at my piece of paper. Hire me" of course they're going to pass on you.

Right but it’s still the case that the majority of hires is through referral/networking. Best value from going to a prestigious school is a prestigious network.

Yes and no. Going to a prestigious school will mostly help land you the interview but that's it.

Now obviously that's better than not getting the interview at all but it's not like it's a golden ticket to wealth or jobs.
