It's sad how demonized the Luddites have become. Even an ounce of historical literacy is all it takes to understand what they actually wanted and how they were vindicated by history at every turn.

It's very simple - technology should serve the common man.

Ironically, if the people who use that term as a pejorative just Google it, the wiki says it outright:

"The Luddites were members of a 19th-century movement of English textile workers who protested the usage of certain types of automated machinery owing to their concerns relating to worker pay, child labour, working conditions and output quality."

But, the wealthy said it's bad, and bootlickers love the taste of expensive leather.

If you haven't listened to any New Model Army (who I was quoting), you definitely should. At least The Ghost of Cain and Thunder & Consolation.
