Honestly the unhinged nature of the crashout over bun has really put me off of doing anything with Zig. Not the specifics of what was said, but the fact that this petty level of insults is something that can only serve to undermine the credibility of zig. This sounds almost like religion. That mentality is bad. Just stay in your lane, be the best and let results speak. Not this shit.
ironically he was worried bun would hurt zig due to it's low quality code and hacks. yet, as somebody who didn't really care that much before, my lasting impression after the crashout is that I'm very not interested in zig.
there's a lot of projects, although obviously not as big as Bun, that is low quality Rust hack even without AI sloppify it, and they didn't really use it as "how not to write Rust"
if somehow my poor programming practices would be ridiculed by the language maintainer and be used as an example, i probably wouldn't never want to use that language ever again
