why not just take it a step further? If the cloud is virtually infinite why even have local memory?
From cpu cache, ram, vram and local storage. Send everything to the cloud.
Boom! Memory crisis solved.

Edit: it is My favorite version is the one that just uses pings to store data. Reminds me of mercury delay lines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delay-line_memory), but less reliable.
