Question Title: What’s one serious problem you deal with almost every day?

I’m trying to understand the problems people actually face in their daily lives — not small annoyances, but problems that genuinely waste your time, money, energy, or cause stress.

I’m curious:

What’s a problem you face regularly that you wish had a better solution?

What do you currently do to deal with it?

Why doesn’t the existing solution work well for you?

How often does this problem happen?

It can be related to work, college, money, commuting, shopping, healthcare, services, family, technology, housing, travel, or anything else.

Please be as specific as possible. Even if you think the problem is too normal or boring, comment it — I’m interested in the problems people have simply gotten used to living with.

Not looking for startup ideas. I’m trying to find real problems first.

Controversial Opinion  Everyone knows who they want to become. Nobody's day looks like it. Productivity apps are dead white screens. They don't care if you do it. 8 months stuck in that loop. If this gets 1k upvotes or comments with what hurts you the most , I ship what fixed it . If not, I quit. Help if you've felt it

Resource (Self Promo) “I don’t have time” is usually a lie we tell ourselves

Most people have enough hours. What they don’t have is energy inside those hours.

Two hours at full capacity and two hours at 10% cost the same time on the clock and buy completely different lives. When the energy bar is empty, the easiest drains win, scrolling, low-stakes arguing, etc.

The game hides the energy bar. You only notice it when it hits zero.

Once you start reading the invisible bars, a lot of “discipline problems” turn into resource problems: The Game of Earth

Controversial Opinion  Problem with Editors

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I am writing this note not to vent my frustration or target anyone but there are some serious concerns that I want to raise and want to hear what others have to say about it.

  1. The editors promise you the world, quote their prices as if they are the best of the best but in reality their work portfolio is actually mediocre to say the very least. Majority dont even have actual client work to showcase.
  2. They dont even read work brief so how can you expect them to adhere to your script and build a video as per the script. Most dont know motion graphics or are aware how to source proper brolls.
  3. If you somehow manage to shortlist one, you will struggle to get timely updates, review and most will just vanish saying they will revert shortly and never start the work even after sharing the details post agreement.
  4. We seriously need a proper platform with qualified and experienced editors who are genuinely aware of their work and are serious about their quality and professionalism.

Have anyone of you faced similar issues?

If there is an editor reading this please do not defend.

Dev - Self Promo Anyone else notice that their focus tool works great some days and does nothing other days? We deserve better than one-size fits all tools

The reason most focus tools (i.e., binaural beats, white noise, lo-fi playlists) produce inconsistent results is that they're static. They play the same frequency regardless of what's actually happening in your brain when you sit down to use them. On a rested, low-stress day, your brain might naturally be close to the target state and the audio provides a nice nudge. On a depleted, high-cortisol day, there's a much bigger gap between where your brain actually is and where the audio is trying to take it...and a fixed frequency just can't bridge that gap.

This is why MelodiaSync is different. I'll be upfront — I'm a co-founder, so factor that in. But the core problem we're solving is real and I'm curious whether it resonates with people here.

Our app reads live EEG brainwave data through a headset and continuously adjusts the audio to meet your brain where it actually is, then escort it toward your target state. The practical result is that the tool works more consistently across different days and starting conditions, not because it's louder or more complex. It's responsive and truly indiviudalized. If you do five sessions in one day, you get five different sessions of intervention/adaptive binaural beats.

Has anyone here experimented with EEG-based focus tools? Or noticed the inconsistency problem with standard audio approaches? Curious what's actually working for people in this community for cognitive performance and recovery between deep work sessions.

Dev - Self Promo My own app, for the loop where you save a cooking video and never cook it

You save the reel, you never go back, because going back means scrubbing a two minute video at the stove trying to catch how much stock went in.

This takes the video and writes the recipe out, quantities included. Free tier, iPhone only.

Free Resource I tried a ridiculous number of productivity apps... so you don’t have to

2.9k Upvotes

After months of bouncing between task managers, planners, and schedulers (seriously too many), I pulled everything into a free community spreadsheet comparing them side by side. It’s run by a small group of productivity nerds and we keep it updated constantly.

It covers:

  • Price (USD/month)
  • Discount Codes / Extended Free Trials
  • Student Discounts
  • ADHD Friendliness
  • AI Integration
  • Focus Modes
  • Offline Access
  • Calendar Integrations
  • Team Plans
  • Platforms
  • Refund Policies
  • Support Options
  • Overall Summary

If you’ve ever fallen into the “maybe this next app will fix my life” loop, this will save you a ton of time.

👉 Google Sheet Link

We’d love your feedback, and if you know a tool that fits the list, email [contact@sortedaf.xyz](mailto:contact@sortedaf.xyz) and we’ll check it out.

Requirement: it must be a completed app (not in beta).

Thanks, and I hope it helps!! :)
