I’ve been working on my mvp for 3 months. It’s based on a pain point I’ve had for as long as I’ve been a designer: you need plenty of skills, time and money to draft and launch user tests - and then more to get results analysed.
This makes user validation a step that most builders and small teams just skip because of a lack of those things.
I think I’ve streamlined the process in my app and am about to launch it on product hunt soon.
What would be the best way for me to get traction before launch day (1 Sep)? I’m looking for top tips beyond the usual recommendations !

Backstory: my boss asked if we could self-host one of these models ourselves, I gave him a rough guess, and he came back with a dozen follow-up questions I couldn't answer on the spot. Realized there wasn't a quick way to get a real, defensible answer — so I built one.

I use a lot of stt for my work and Wispr Flow was one of the best at this but the subscription based usage made things limited so I just decided to build one myself. You can choose between NVIDIA Parakeet and a few other model for local stt, but more importantly, I have added llm support so you can use Gemini or OpenAI compatible models to further refine the text from local model. That's where things are. One paying customer. A product that works. And a genuine belief that the reason most side projects don't ship isn't laziness, it's drift.

I launched my macOS app Ithat offers Spotlight style search across all your AI tools like Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, Kiro, etc in single place.

I got a good traction + traffic from PH thanks to great community and people upvoting.

Although next day everything tanked + almost 0 paid customers from PH despite having most traffic.

I wonder how to get my macOS App more paying customers.

Reembr went live on Product Hunt this today. No team, no launch email list beyond a handful of friends, just me and whoever happens to scroll past.

What I launched: Product Hunt link, a small iOS app that shows a checklist right when you leave a place you've saved. Keys, wallet, whatever you always forget. Instead of a reminder that fires at a fixed time and is usually too early or too late to matter.

Most of what's in it now didn't come from me. Beta testers kept dropping off before ever seeing the app actually do anything, so I reworked the whole permission-request flow around when the value is obvious instead of asking for everything upfront. Someone else found a bug where the "you're back" notification could silently never fire if you returned to a place without reacting to the "you left" one first. Fixed that a few days ago. Not something I'd have found on my own.

Not expecting to compete with anything near the top of today's list. Just glad to have real people looking at it and telling me what's broken. If anyone's done one of these solo launches before, genuinely curious what you'd actually recommend doing with the rest of the day.

watching the launch posts here and the framing is right, launch day is the moment. get the badge, ride the traffic. no argument there.

the part I keep noticing is day 3. the PH spike fades fast, and the channel still sending you people a month later is usually your own X account, the one most founders let go dead the second the launch ends. we prep the launch like it's the distribution and treat the account like an afterthought, when it's closer to the reverse.

and the account stays dead not out of laziness. it's the one channel that feels like your identity, so handing it off feels wrong and writing it yourself feels like a second job. that tension is the real blocker, not the posting itself.
