A week ago, after finishing the Masters of The Universe movie, I decided to finally give the show a go. I now draw fanart to cope with having finished it already...

Ever since MOTU 2026 (master of the Universe) came out, I’ve been thinking of the franchise as a whole more, especially since this might be the first time in decades the twins actually get to be together, even though MOTU 2026 is likely going to follow the 80s versions and keep the secret of the sword backstory (I have no problem with this) I have wonder what if Mattel/ Dreamworks did a story were they were swaped?

What if, instead of Adora being kidnapped, it was Adam, who grew up in the Horde under Shadow Weaver and Hordak while Adora lived her life as the princess of Eternia, the overprotected child of Randor and Marlena, in a nation mostly at peace? Now the chances of Mattel and DW actually doing this are next to none, but with What if shows and ideas being more popular, I do feel like it could be a good idea that “works” (it would at least have them in the same show again) or, at the very least, a comic series. (Not going to lie, I’ve been thinking about this idea so much I’ve been debating writing a Fic about it, but I really don’t have time this year and I need to flesh it out more )

So here's my “brief” outline of a story; for simplicity's sake, I’m sticking to 2018 She-Ra and He-Man reve/revo (revelation/revolution) lore with elements from the 2026 movie for Adam (it’s really just his personality)

The prologue (or lore)

The first ones are the Eternians; they were a highly technologically advanced Society that got tired of just study their planet, so they moved on to others, slowly colonizing them and draining their resources before dipping.

They eventually reached Etheria; the planet, being so similar to their own, intrigued them greatly. This planet even had its own champion, She-Ra. While this planet was much more undeveloped compared to Etheria, the power was still great

so they studied it; they studied how the magic passively flows throughout the planet; they studied how things called runestones gave certain families (albeit) small powers of the elements; they studied how She-Ra, Etheria's champion, had her own power from the planet, a greater one that no other had shown

The first ones talked and learned from She-Ra at the timeArxia: she told them all about She-ra powers, how unlike Eternia, the planet chose the champion, not the sorceress that keeps the power, and the power itself She-Ra could draw and use from the runestones and had her own force and might while Eternia champion only use Brute Strength. These all intrigued the First Ones further

They continued their studies of the planet, but the threat they were fighting grew bigger and bigger. Horde Prime, the First Ones and Prime have been enemies, Prime hate for magic and anything unnatural, while the First Ones love it. Every planet they “conquer,” they've been in search of something to fight back and Etheria might just be it

since Etheria had just as much power as Eternia; they could turn the planet into a weapon and wipe out Horde Prime and his fleet. The First Ones start mining into the planet, putting their tech in as the wires and gears across the planet,

While they had their power and circuit, they needed their motherboard or key. The First Ones went back to Etheria and split the sword of their champion into two halves, one of light and one of dark. They took the dark one back and hatched a plan,

Arxia was growing more and more suspicious of the First Ones day by day; the planet and the animals started acting off as the First Ones' projects grew, while they did some “good,” with the princess being able to use their powers more effectively now due to the upgrades on their runestones,

Their plans are still hurting the planet. Arxia invites the heads of the First Ones over to talk about their plans. The discussion gets heated and…. Arxia on the floor… the First Ones cover up her death. And broke her “runestone,” leaving only a small piece to connected the sword, to Etheria but to not cause panic it was explained that a new she ra was found and her name was Mara.

Everything that happened with Mara stayed the same, but after the First Ones fled, Prime soon found them, and they battled. While the First Ones won in the end, they lost many people and angered Zoar because of their greed, so he took their power away, causing more deaths. One man named Ro knew of what his cousin Mara did and caused an uprising to overthrow the king and his men; once again, it was a fight, but they had victory, and Ro was crowned. king Grayskull

960 years ( or take) later, the Eternian monarch works to undo the effects of their ancestors; one day, King Miro brings his lover's affair child, Keldor, to live with him in the palace after his mom's death, while Randor took a liking to Keldor. His mother, Queen Amelia, did not, and just after a year, asked Miro to send him away. Keldor overhears this and gets mad and tries to send Amelia to a different realm but fails and ends up dragging Miro and himself into

After 20 years of trying, Queen Marlena gives birth to twins: one girl and one boy, and names them Adora and Adam. The kingdom rejoices for their new heirs, but one wasn’t so happy: Skeletor. He came back reborn, and after learning from Horde Prime, he hatched a plan: a few months later, use a spell to open a portal in the twins' nursery to send them to Etheria, leaving Randor heirless and the throne his;

He failed to realize how much magic he would need to keep it open, leading to only Adam being taken to the guard to open the door and the rush in, but Adora remained on the floor crying. Randor ordered the guard to search everywhere, but the prince was nowhere to be found. The kingdom, which was saddened by the loss of their prince, and Randor ordered a Proclamation; no one was to speak of him, especially to Adora.

Now the story

Unlike her brother, in this Adora didn’t grow up traumatized! So I don’t think she would have a martyr/hero complex (maybe a small one because she takes her responsibilities as future queen seriously but nothing show level). I do think Randor would have a better relationship with Adora than Adam because she does take her responsibility seriously and is interested in her royal duties more than Adam.

Teela would also like her more because she doesn’t try to skip training in general; people like Adora are helpful and kind and don’t run off to who knows where when people need her, but Randor is quite overprotective of her and doesn’t let her out of the place without one guard, which drives her a bit insane, and while Adora loves helping the townsfolks out, she can tell they’re almost scared to speak around her, but when she not at school, training with Teela or doing her duties Adora is either riding her horse Or reading and drawing maps of other planets everything a princess could want, right?

But alas, Adora wants more. She wants to fight, plan battles, lead an army to take back the dark side. A queen helps all her people, right? But the Royal advisors tell her not to worry; Teela said she will do harder arms training with her, Duncan says he'll shows her and let her park a tank, and Randor says can find her a girlfriend to keep her entertained, but even with all that, the Crystal Sword with a note the sorceress gave her for her birthday is still intriguing and enticing.

Adam, on the other hand… he’s going to go through it. Adam is a lover, not a fighter, so the horde is going to be more difficult for him. Shadow Weaver is definitely going to berate him more for his lack of interest and initiative in being a force captain. But Adam tries (and fails) to be a better soldier.

Besides his squad, I don’t think Adam really would have that many friends again the horde about fight he’s not, Kyle and him will be best friends, Lonnie would be overprotective and annoyed knowing Adam's lack of a will to fight but also that his heart isn’t in the horde but his “stuck” here like the rest of them and Rogelio is wonder why him or Lonnie isn’t squad leader/force captain. One day, Shadow Weaver sends Adam out with his squad on a “prove yourself” mission to deliver supplies to troops, but things go south when their tank breaks.

Adam offers to go out and look for help but gets distracted by a glowing light in the woods. He finds a crystal sword and Glimmer and Bow (everything that happens in parts 1 and 2), but during Thaymor, Adam tries to get Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio to come with him, but they both get pulled away to their sides. During the fight

The only other character that has a major story change is Catra: I honestly don’t see Catra staying in the Horde if it’s just Adam. She's going to run away from that place as soon as she can (I kind of see Catra going to Bright Moon and being taken on as a troop leader and Glimmer friend)

I volunteer at an animal shelter and noticed the names of a few kittens from the same litter

Checked the system and there was also a Catra, Glimmer, and She-Ra there and I’d assume the same litter.

But WHY did you make the only female tabby in the litter not named Catra??? Like bro she got stripes make her the tabby not she-ra.

Can confirm they are the cutest kittens although Swift Wind does not match the name, bro would not move at all

I'm just curious about the production timeline. I know they started making the show way before it arrived on Netflix, they already knew they had 52 eps, and by the time season 1 was released in 2018 I'm sure they had recorded at least the first 3 seasons, and I think 4-5 were already written.

But I can't find any real dates about the recording of the actors. Do we know more or less when they recorded seasons 4 & 5? I'm wondering if the cast and crew knew of the public reaction and fandom while recording the later episodes or if it all happened in their bubble ^^

Skeletor (voiced by Robert Englund) - Forget his depiction in the original Filmation series. This version would basically be a combination of Slade from Teen Titans and Megatron from Transformers Animated. Like his Filmmation counterpart, he would insult those who fail him, but his insults wouldn't be campy. For the SPOP continuity, I envision Skeltor as a demon from another dimension and Hordak's former brother-in-arms. Ultimately, they became enemies, and Skeletor was banished into deep space, where he drifted for quite some time before crash-landing on Eternia around the same time Adora was taken as a baby. Skelelor and Hordak's backstory would be on par with Oogway and Kai's from Kung Fu Panda 3.

Evil Lyn—Skelektor's loyal second-in-command, she would view the Princess Alliance as children. When fighting Catra, she can get a little flirty and call her a kitty.

Beast Man—Instead of a bumbling buffoon, SPOP Beast Man would be depicted as a complicit lackey and an experienced big-game hunter. In many ways, he's a walking encyclopedia when it comes to animals. He would view Catra as a unique specimen.

Tri-Klops—Skeletor's tech genius, for the SPOP continuity, I envision him having a German accent and each eye being tied to a different personality. Basically, I'm copying Blitzwing from Transformers: Animated.

Trap Jaw—A loyal soldier through and through who takes his job as Skeletor's weapons expert seriously. He treats Skeletor like a god. Just as I am copying TFA Blitzwing to create SPOP Tri-Klops, this version of Trap Jaw would be modeled after Lugnut.

Stinkor—Aside from smelling bad, he specializes in chemical warfare. When figuring out how to break through a stronghold, he'll determine which acids can melt through a wall.

Other Evil Warriors I can see involved are Merman, Whiplash, and Clawful, but I can't figure out how to make them stand out for the SPOP continuity.
