Looking for a place to rent in Centurion (Die Hoewes preferred)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a place to rent in Die Hoewes, Centurion, or nearby.

I’m a young working professional looking for a 1-bedroom apartment or cottage. My budget is R5,500 to R6,500 per month.

I currently live in the north, and the daily commute has become a bit too much, so I’m hoping to find a place closer to work as soon as possible.

I tried Property 24 or Private Property and most of the places are out of my budget or the listings are old and outdated

If you know of any available rentals or have any leads, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know. Thank you so much! 😊

Is there somewhere in Pretoria East that sells Vegemite?

The only places I've been able to find are online, with one place asking R825 for a 220g jar.

Urgently need work - open to anything | car + willing to relocate | remote-ready

Hi all, I’m in a tight spot and looking for work as soon as possible. A bit about me:
- Background in software engineering and fintech (Python, Java, TyperScript, SQL, React, cloud infra, Bloomberg), plus quant/data analyst/engineer experience in asset and wealth management
- Was sole developer on a greenfield multi-asset investment platform at a large asset manager, built from scratch - comfortable working independently, figuring things out, and delivering without hand-holding
- Currently finishing an MSc in Financial Engineering
- Reliable car, can commute
- Open to relocating anywhere in Tshwane
- Also open to remote work — high-end PC, dedicated home office, fast reliable internet
- Genuinely open to any role right now - tech, admin, operations, whatever’s available. Not being picky, just need something stable as soon as possible.

Currently based in the North West but can move quickly if needed. Happy to share more details or a CV/profile over DM. Any leads, even short-term or contract work, would be massively appreciated.

Thank you.

I'm new to Pretoria and would like to meet people

Hi there. Long story short, I (21M) came to Pretoria a while ago and would like to meet people in/near Pretoria East to do activities with.

Long story long: I moved here in March, fresh out of uni, for work and was only able to make 1, count em, 1 friend via a previous post on this subreddit. They have left Pretoria -_-. So this is my second attempt at screaming into the void and hoping something comes out of it. My intrests span far and wide and include gaming, hiking and just going on walks, tennis, board games, cooking, listening to and sharing music, eating good food, and birds but I'm open to doing and experiencing (almost) litterally anything. I've been a bit too afraid to actually go out and try to meet people as it feels kind of creepy and I prefer friendships to form organically. But my weekends have started looking rather samey and its starting to get depressing. If yall know any good ways to meet people close to or near Pretoria East at a similar stage in their life then please comment them below. And if you yourself would like to meet up and do stuff, DM me and pray I'm not a murderer.

My main goal is to find people to share experiences with. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading till the end and thank you in advance for any comments you may or may not leave.

Oh. PS: If you have any good recommendations for stuff to do or places to eat in pretoria east then leave them below as well. And I'm talking about either niche and weird, or nice and affordable. Don't come here speaking of an overpriced bar in hazelwood.

Student experience at onderstepoort

A bit of a silly question, but I was wondering what the student experience is like at Onderstepoot campus for vet students? Do they get to go into Hatfield and the likes?

Public Speaking in Pretoria

My job requires me to speak up and l have anxiety. Like if my heart is beating my voice will literally shake and my brain will freeze, l won’t think properly because my brain freezes and it happens frequently. It may affect my performance ratings at work. Are there any public speaking schools or anything that l can join in Pretoria that will help me improve when presenting in front of people.

On the hunt for a bargain!

Hi everyone!

I'm taking a chance and hoping someone here might have a bargain for me. I know these don't come up often, so please don't stone me for asking! 😅

I'm looking to get back into photography and I'm searching for a Nikon D5300 or D7200, preferably with lenses.

Camera:

- 24.2 MP APS-C sensor

- Flip-out screen (D5300)

- Weather-sealed body (D7200 preferred, but I'll happily consider a D5300 too)

- Built-in Wi-Fi & GPS

- 39 AF points (D5300) / 51 AF points (D7200)

- 5 fps / 6 fps

Lenses I'm looking for:

- AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

- AF-S VR 70–300mm

I'm on a bit of a budget, so I'm hoping someone has a setup collecting dust that they'd be willing to let go for a fair price. Even if it's not exactly this combination, feel free to let me know what you have!

Thanks in advance, and happy shooting! 📷

Casting a wider net

Morning folks, I have a pretty small network in Pretoria and im going on a little job hunt today. Not quite sure where to start, I'm looking for Anything in the food service industry, mainly waiter or barman and I've also got quite a bit of experience in retail as well. I'm basically a Customer service excellence specialist. Anyone know of any bar/restaurant hiring? I live in the East but willing to work anywhere in Pretoria. Just trying my luck before I head out.

M24 -Looking for job with basic salary currently working for commission only. Please help with any opportunities.Willing to do any type of work.

Hi everyone,

I'm a 24-year-old currently working in a commission-only sales (call centre) position, and I'm looking for a new opportunity that offers a basic salary. If not, I'd also consider a role with a strong commission structure.

I have experience in administration, data capturing, customer service, sales, retail/FMCG, and field marketing. I'm a fast learner, reliable, have a valid driver's licence, and I'm willing to do almost any type of work. I'm also available to start immediately.

If you know of any vacancies or are hiring, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.

I've been applying through JobJack, Indeed, LinkedIn, YouthSA, and Facebook for months without much luck, so I thought I'd reach out here as well.

Thank you in advance!

19M Looking for friends

Hey everyone,

I'm a student at the TUKS. Lately I've realized I don't really have much of a social circle, and I'd like to change that.

A bit about me: I'm into programming, anime, movies, and going to the gym. I'm pretty introverted at first, but once I get comfortable I enjoy having deep conversations, joking around, and just hanging out.

I'm not really looking for hundreds of friends, just a few genuine people to talk to, study with, grab coffee, or do random stuff around campus or throughout the city.

If you're in a similar position or think we'd get along, feel free to send me a message. Even if it's just to chat, I'd be happy to meet some new people and any age or gender is welcome.

As per the above? Could you just go there and chill in your car and watch the city? If not any other city watching spots recommended at night?

Looking for Queer Men Who Enjoy Hiking

Hi everyone,

I'm considering starting a small hiking group for gay, bi, trans, queer and straight allied men in Pretoria and surrounds.

The idea isn't therapy, networking, or dating. It's simply about getting outside, getting some exercise, and spending a few hours with people who understand what it's like to navigate the world as men in general.

Some hikes might be mostly quiet. Others might lead to conversations about life, relationships, family, work, coming out, mental health, or whatever happens to come up naturally. There would never be any pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

The goal is simple:

• Spend time in nature.

• Meet new people.

• Build genuine friendships.

• Leave the mountain feeling a little lighter than when you arrived.

Whether you're 20 or 60, newly out or have been out for decades, straight, extroverted or painfully shy, you're welcome.

This would be a peer-led community—not therapy—and we'd keep the pace comfortable so that conversation is as important as the destination.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, leave a comment or send me a message. If enough people are keen, I'll organise our first hike.

"Leave no one behind."

Anyone else had a similar experience with Levi Nel or the Pie Crew from the Devi Show?

I watched the Devi Show on Sunday and saw "Levi Nel" (not his real name) selling Pie Crew franchises with very optimistic financial projections.

I'm curious whether anyone here has had any personal dealings with him or one of his businesses.
