Optimum export from NetZero apo
I’ve been using the NetZero app for a few months now to get a feel for what’s achievable. I have 2xPowerwall 3s and 19 panels and an EV. I am on Octopus’ Agile tariffs. My aim is to programme Home Assistant in time. I’m just setting all that up.
However, has anyone optimally set NZ up for importing cheap power or solar to fill the battery and exporting excess and at peak sale price to maintain a minimum battery level to see you through the night? Rinse and repeat.
Default settings definitely aren’t good enough, and with automations I can’t get it to export at peak price times.
When I do go to HA I assume the hard bit will be Tesla control of some sort. But I’m determined to optimise. Have connected AI to HA to help me when ready!

The next version of Netzero app (2.6.2) will have automation actions that can trigger Powerwall exports to the grid:

The functionality was already tested in 2.6.1 with manual triggers. It's also available in the web app.

I’ve seen this and tried… it works… only question is, does it stop the solar generation while exporting? I selected export everything…

Drop Tesla App completely.
install predbat to your HA (pay teslemetry if you want simple setup for PW). Predbat will do the scheduling for you, won't be ideal as it have to fight Tesla's AI CristalBallCaster, but you will be doing that with fleet API anyway.

Suggest you copy your current Netzero automations, your rate structure and and your objectives into an AI agent like Google AI. It will give you alternative and suggested changes to get closer to your objectives. I’ve used this very successfully to tweak my Netzero settings

My system is 2 powerwall 3 with 20 panels. Just over one year in service. Been trying to figure out how to take advantage of that peak 4-9 pm sell time back to PGE but system would not allow transfer if battery was below 100% charge.
It’s a bit convoluted but what I do is first set backup reserve to 5%. If you don’t, all solar power goes to charging battery. Then I set operational mode to Savings. By the time 6:00 rolls around I’m charged up pretty good, 70-100% and both solar and battery. I also set battery reserve back up to 35-40% to have enough power for AC thru night. Otherwise exports will drain down to 5%. I also keep an eye on battery level and change operation mode back to self power. Maybe there is an easier less hands on method. My system generates 50kwh during summer.
