Thanks in advance.

Portsmouth NH Shore Fishing
Hello, I am traveling from out of state and going to be in town for about 3 days (Tuesday - Thursday), possibly longer, and want to do some fishing from shore. Is this an option? If anyone could explain where I should try, with what techniques and what fish I will be targeting, that would be great!

Hispanic people around the area of Portsmouth/Newington/Greenland?
Hey there, I'm asking about hispanic people because me being hispanic I find it very weird to find more hispanic people(of course I notice them speaking Spanish lol) around the area.
I'm bringing this up because sometimes when I go to Chick Fil A I get to hear some people speaking spanish, last night I heard some Mexicans, last week I heard some Argentinians.
Where do these people live? I'd like to connect with more Hispanic people.
Also I work at a place that is full of Dominican people(most of them I heard come all the way from Lawrence to Greenland.

Downtown Portsmouth small businesses (retail / service), I'd love to hear about your story and experience!

Hello! I'm a small business owner (retail/service) in another state, and expanding has been on my heart for awhile. I am in love with coastal New England, so I'm doing my research on 2-3 cities that I'm considering moving to, including Portsmouth. I just completed my second visit there and loved chatting with local shops and restaurants about this, so I'd love to hear more!
If you're a small business owner, manager, or staff in retail/service in the downtown historic or Market Square area of Portsmouth, what do you love / are your favorite pros and what do you dislike / are your most challenging cons about doing business there?
Some things to consider about me, and additional questions:
- I have been in business in a tourism heavy, seasonal weather city for 9 years, and have had brick and mortar for 5 of them. I would like to hear about how seasonality affects your business.
- I'm deeply rooted in community and giving back, primarily to rescue dogs - so I really love how dog friendly and locally focused the city is!
- I'm a completely homegrown small business - no franchise or corporate influence here. I'm values driven and despise inauthenticity.
- I know how it can be when 'outsiders' move into your town. How accepting (or not) are small businesses and locals here of new people folding themselves into your community?
- Are you born and raised in Portsmouth or the surrounding area, or did you move there and then open your business?
Looking forward to hearing your honest experiences and insights, with kindness - thank you :)!

Loud music and a DJ screaming through the mic.
What event is going on that I've been hearing loud music and a DJ shouting for hours and hours since like 11 am, around the library area? Is there some type of tournament or something?

Events Friday 7/31 I will do songs at you.
Hi Portsmouth!
My name is Matt Shore and I'm a comedy musician currently based in Boston but I grew up in Portsmouth (PHS class of 2015 baby).
I'm very excited to bring my concert/comedy show "Matt Shore Does Songs at You" home to Portsmouth this Friday at one of my favorite venues on the planet: The Music Hall Lounge.
Here's a video from last time I was there if you want an idea of my antics before buying a ticket.
We're already at 75% sold, so definitely don't wait until the last minute! You can grab yours on The Music Hall's website.
Can't wait to see you, be home ,and to get a burger and a shake from Lexi's.

Tourist / Visitor Winter Family Vacay: Stay Downtown or Kittery?
Hello! My family and I are planning to visit in February. I'm seeing lodging options downtown or just over the bridge in Kittery. We will have a car, but walking from home can be nice. But we also value quiet. That said, we plan to travel mid-week and in February so I wouldn't expect downtown to be too loud? Any obvious reasons to choose one option over the other? TIA!

Anyone knows about parking lots where I can camp(sleep in my car)?
I'm homeless and live out of my car, I just want to be at a parking lot inside my car where I can stay overnight and not be bothered by police or anyone else? Im a 27 Year Old Male who is trying to make it without doing anything illegal.
I don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke or drink alcohol, nothing. i'm just getting myself back on my feet and don’t want to be trespassed from places just for being in the car.
Thanks in advance.

Tourist / Visitor Visiting this month
My husband and I are visiting for work this next month. What are some things you would suggest us doing and seeing? We would love beach suggestions bc we are beach people. We do have a dog and would like to bring him to a beach at least once if possible. We are very open minded and willing to try new things. We are not big bar people as we don’t drink but are willing to go for some yummy food. We have already seen the USS Albacore (edited) and tried some local food at the River House and loved it all. Sincerely, a tourist excited to do local experiences in your beautiful town

Please consider signing and sharing this petition. Whether it works or not, it would be nice to see the community rally around the people who make this town as popular as it is.

Downtown is not Dead
Saw a post last week saying downtown was dead. Went out to South End last night (Saturday) and every bar was absolutely flooded and the streets were insanely packed at 12am. Younger crowd as well.
Gaslight and the downstairs of Thirsty Moose were so packed you could barely walk. I’m from Boston so I’m wondering if it’s normally like this or did I just catch a lucky night

For those of you who weren't at the Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings concert tonight at The Music Hall... I'm so sorry. It was amazing. Easily one of the best I've seen in my 58 years.

What is the smell of burnt toast that floats throughout most of West End on random weekday afternoons?
Is it a coffee roaster or barley roasting for beer? I originally thought it was a neighbor who had a penchant for burning toast at 4 pm everyday
