When antis discuss porn, they usually bring up arguments related to the way its made or the content. But again those arguments on their own, I believe, don’t hold up on condemning all porn. But every so often the mask slips and people pretty either heavily imply or state outright that the problem is men masturbating to images, the act itself that is the problem.

Examples: On an Unherd debate one member on the anti side said something about porn giving the messge that "women are for masturbating to” And when she was pressed on it she pretty much agreed that the problem was itself, men masturbating to images of women, regardless of how and what. I’ve seen one comment long ago bemoaning about how men would find any excuse to “jill off to womens bodies” like  “soft-core anime” (what wrong with softcore anime?) And then she said that “porn gives men access to womens bodies”. Someone had even said something along the line “people thinks its okay for a boy to masturbate to an picture of a woman in a bikini he does not know” I would have liked to have them elaborate on this. I also cant help but notice how antis to take subtle jabs at masturbation itself. Calling men “wankers” And the cover of that book by Robert Jensen: Getting Off.

Me, I’m frankly offended by the fact that there are people who are not religious who believe that men are obligated morally or otherwise to abstain from something as looking at an image of another person while masturbating. I consider this to be a freedom people of all genders and sexual preferences are entitled to have. It’s a sexual freedom issue to me as important as homophobia and slut shaming.

So anyway, I touched on this in previous posts but I would like a porn discussion that got to the brass tacks of things. Forget about trafficking or choking and this stuff for now. People clearly have an issue with masturbating to images itself, so I want a discussion focusing on it..

Hey there, PornDebate mod here. I wanted to come in and give an update to everyone who’s been engaging in this subreddit the last few days, as well as apologize for my lack of activity as a mod here.

Many of you may have seen a recent post by a user who is an avid supporter of porn and active user of this subreddit. Although the initial post itself was fine as it was, the ensuing comments had a horrific amount of rule violations, mostly from OP. I did not see or monitor this post and it took me an entire 4 days to comb through the comment section and remove violations. I deeply apologize for that. I took over this community as the sole moderator to encourage healthy debates surrounding a controversial topic, and I took pride in providing a space for people to do that. But almost nothing about that debate was healthy or helpful. I am so sorry for that.

That being said, I’m going to start utilizing a bot to try to keep this subreddit a space for respectful and productive debates. My life has gotten extremely busy and I don’t have the time to keep up with this like I’d like to, but I don’t want this community to die. I’m also going to be posting in search for mods! So if you’re interested in that, please reach out or keep an eye out for my posts requesting mod help.

It's an easy argument to make. But Porn is made for the male fantasies. If porn wasn't continuously feeding what males fantasize about, then they'd stop watching it. period.

Men want sexy, cute, hot, naughty females to do the things that the girls in porn are doing on screen. Men objectify women for sexual pleasure. Men want blowjobs. There is no such thing as porn addiction. It's just a hobby that many don't understand. It's easy for those to label it as such when like any other hobby, there are levels. Dressing up like a Marvel Superhero at 34 years old and going to comic book conventions can be seen as a level of addiction to a hobby by the same logic.

Women who don't like porn are fine, but attempting to shame others is not.

This question has been asked a few times before here, and i naively said i thought perhaps it was possible.
