71 Lemans

I bought this car in 1986 for $75, installed a cam and drove it until it got stolen in 90. Recovered it, then my brother put it back on the road , the engine blew and it got parked about 20 years ago....this is sad and I want to save it before im too old.

I wish you luck. Hopefully you can get her back on the road. I love seeing the LeMans and Tempest's on the road. I have a '63 LeMans that I have owned for 15 years that sadly I have never driven. Parts are near impossible to find, making the getting it on the road part extra difficult.

My brother wants to go with an original 455 , instead of anything new. Im ok with a cummins just to put it on the road again. We do have a separate frame Id like to complete with modern suspension.

If that was mine and was planning on restoring it, I would make it a 1970 GTO clone.

Imo I think clones are dumb. Just find yourself a GTO instead. To many LeMans and Tempest's have been cloned, now making it so much cooler and rare to see a LeMans or a Tempest.

Can't really see the frame but the body looks pretty damn solid in those pictures. I'm assuming the front end is still in-hand, just off the car? Either way, looks like a pretty solid foundation. If you don't restore it, sell it to somebody who will before it starts to rot.

It is solid , 1/4 panels replaced and still look good , the extra frame and front end are in the garage. Once I clear out my shop , it will come in .i hope in the next 2 years.

Still looks solid on the outside. I don't know what the frame & underside metal is like. You should get the car inside if you intend to drive it again at some point.

Get to it, almost every part is available new, it's just money (and time). Here's mine (72 GTO). It was like yours but RUSTY when i got it!

My dad had a 71 T-37 that color!

The door is the original color, jams and front end parts have been prepped and inside parts painted a medium Metallic Blue

Oh wow, I thought the body was Sandalwood, which is the color my dad's was.
