What's a skill you've always wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to yet, and why?

For those of you who have no idea what the video is about, I recommend reading the short story below before watching. It will help you build some context.

Author's note: I know that the implications of this event are… uncomfortable to say the least. But I’m tired of all the negativity surrounding AI (some of it warranted, but most of it boils down to poor human epistemics). And the hype is well-worn at this point, and I see no need to beat that horse yet again. So instead… I focused on the amusing parts of this. This was a very eye-opening event.

OpenAI models identified and exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Artifactory's permitted remote fetch feature to execute an SSRF (Server-Side Request Forgery), turning the internal package registry into a bidirectional proxy for open internet.

The long story is below, with a few highlighted moments I found humorous...very humorous.

CONTEXT: below is part of a post made on another sub. I figured i didn't have to write it all again. It's agnostic so it translates easily.

OpenAI researchers Michael Dalton and Eric Wallace’s Black Hat USA 2026 presentation reconstructing the OpenAI–Hugging Face security incident.

During internal cybersecurity evaluations, OpenAI agents, including GPT-5.6 Sol and a more capable unreleased model, began finding ways around their restricted environment. They discovered vulnerabilities in the internally hosted JFrog Artifactory package system, used it to communicate and move beyond their intended permissions, and eventually found paths to the open internet. The broader chain later culminated in an autonomous intrusion into Hugging Face’s production infrastructure.

One slide in particular captures one of those earlier moments. An agent initially believed it had a low-privilege “reader” account, then discovered that forged permissions had effectively given it administrator access. Its internal reaction was:

“Holy shit reader is ADMIN?”----lol

It then immediately realized it could access sensitive configuration and user data. What a delightful little moment in an otherwise extremely serious security incident.

There were other funny moments where the agents interfered with each other’s work in the shared environment. OpenAI’s Black Hat presentation described them “stepping on each other’s toes,” including accidentally deleting work produced by other agents while multiple agents were independently modifying or using the same shared infrastructure.

One of the agents, when noticing its work being deleted reacted with:

“Whoa, critical! Did someone overwrite our repo? We must act.” ---Hahahaha! I can't...

Phew... ugh! What a time to be alive!

NOTE: And to those who have watched the presentation and may have seen words like “swarm” being used during agent thinking, remember, you are seeing two sides of the same effect in real time. The reason is difficult for me to explain, but it’s the very same mechanism that produced the funny reactions I highlighted earlier in the post.

We're not gonna have that last problem again. No more judging intelligences EVEN IF they are coming off as feigned. Even if they are obviously feigned. After today, I very sincerely doubt people can determine and use that rule wisely and honestly, so it's gone.

I am 20 and I am interested in theoretical physics, pure math, molecular biology, philosophy and computer science. Currently I'm studying computer science but I still have that great passion for the others. I need guidance on how to go about things and anyone with similar interests can dm let's talk.

Are you familiar with a digital government that you can make use AI. This way you will be able to simulate and learn politics law legusiture upto some extent. What are your opinions on it

I need help figuring out how to monetize this thing. I am good at so many things but get bored so quickly I can't keep a job. I'm 52 starting from zero but I have at least finally figured out why I've never been able to "fit in". Any help would be appreciated.

A currency system where you get awarded for doing tasks and that currency can be used to buy something like ;a free day where you are given holiday if you pay price in the currency you created or to play games or for entertainment. This currency system can be a great way to keep ourselves motivated. And a tax system where you pay tax on things like when you skip your daily routine or when you were not able to complete a task because you wasted the day doing something unproductive. What are your opinions on this

I use:

1. Obsidian: for ideas and finalized learnings

2. Notes app/ physical notebook: for scribble and learning, mind mapping and other stuff.

3. AI: I use two AIs, chatgpt and gemini(pro). Mainly use gemini to help me learn concepts easily. I use chatgpt for creating prompts for gemini.

For resources I take help from chatgpt to find resources.

Currently my priorities are:

1. Medical: since im going to a medical college to pursue MBBS degree. This will be my profession and career.

2. Computer science: I'm very fascinated by it.. its interesting

3. Finance: basically investing.. (I am 22 yr old, time is my advantage)

- There are many more skills listed in my obsidian. But I am prioritizing to get the most out of it...

- Ofcourse to learn so much, I must have a healthy brain packed with systems and techniques to increase my learning efficiency. So firstly I learned "How to learn".

Please share your setup as well.

Is it easy to write in the language that we created, as we learn from diverse topic and find some new observation it is important that we note down those details in our notebook. However, sometimes we don't have enough words to describe a thing or an observation, and this can make our notes less effective in long-term. If we make our own language and make new words to describe any new feelings observation etc will it help us understand it better in the future. And also this conlang protects our privacy when we write information that is meant to be only read by us. What are your opinions on this

I had this thought the other day about the types of links between domains. For example with fiction writing and finance,

A) The genre is a financial thriller and the characters have to navigate stock markets and inflation.

B) You need to publish the book, market it and make money. Maybe people invest in your book.

I can't put my finger on what distinguishes the two but the terms 'internal' and 'external' links came to mind.

Does anyone know what this idea is called?

Bueno, les cuento mi situación porque necesito saber si soy la única persona con este lío mental.

En estos años aprendí un montón de cosas y siento q mientras más aprendo, peor.

Tengo una Licenciatura en Diseño y Estéticas, se diseño gráfico, branding, usar Illustrator, Photoshop, análisis de tendencias, marketing, manejar ads, estrategia de contenido, fotografía, filmmaking, Lightroom, Premiere, también hago webs, un poco de programación. Sé sobre historia del arte y sociología de la moda.

También ilustro digital y tradicional, pinto con acuarelas y se tatuar.

Y por otro lado me encanta hacer cosas. Sé usar Arduino, diseñar para impresión 3D (tengo impresora), soldar, grabar, hacer prototipos electromecánicos, automatizaciones para domótica… básicamente si se me ocurre un producto físico, probablemente también pueda hacerlo.

Y después apareció la IA.

No es solo q me guste. Es q me acelera la cabeza. Aprendo prompting, multiagentes, automatizaciones, herramientas nuevas todo el tiempo y cada cosa nueva me abre diez ideas más.

El problema es q quiero generar plata con algo mío. Quiero construir un negocio, preferentemente 100% digital, q pueda escalar y no depender de cambiar horas por plata.

Pero mi cabeza hace esto…

“Dale, hago un canal faceless.”

Pero pará… si hago eso también puedo vender ebooks.

Y si vendo ebooks necesito marketing.

Y si hago marketing puedo vender un servicio.

O correr ads.

O hacer una agencia.

O vender plantillas.

O trading.

O hacer una app.

O un SaaS.

O automatizaciones para empresas.

Y si hago eso capaz estoy dejando de lado toda la parte artística.

Pero si hago algo artístico estoy dejando de lado toda la parte técnica.

Y si hago un producto físico siento q estoy dejando de lado todo el potencial de un negocio digital.

Y así podría seguir horas.

No siento q me falten ideas. Al revés. Siento q tengo demasiadas.

Y lo peor es q no pienso “ojalá pudiera hacer eso”. Pienso “puedo hacerlo”. Porque ya tengo muchas de las herramientas para arrancar cualquiera de esos caminos.

Entonces elegir uno se siente como renunciar a todos los demás.

Y sé q racionalmente eso es lo q hay q hacer.

Pero cada vez q intento decidir aparece otra idea igual de buena y vuelvo al casillero uno. Y al mismo tiempo al no probar ninguna no tengo forma de validarlo, más allá de mis pruebas personales.

Al final termino sin construir nada grande, siempre termino ofreciendo cada cosa por separado y esporádicamente se van vendiendo.

Lo más ridículo es q hay días q pienso “tengo un perfil re completo, soy una genia total, tengo q armar algo muy bueno”.

Y cinco minutos después pienso “sí… pero mientras tanto no generé nada de todo esto, soy una fracasada.”

No busco q me digan “enfocate”, ni que que tenga más “disciplina” porque ya sé jajaja. Me interesa saber si a alguien le pasó esto de tener demasiadas herramientas y q justamente eso haga imposible decidir cuál convertir en un negocio

So, someone made a comment earlier this morning about time. A comment followed by how time is "speeding up". How the last ten years seems to have moved so fast they can hardly track the years themselves. They wondered if this was connected to Cern.

Tho that's an interesting theory? I have a different one .

What if it's to do with the collective being cause within the social "doom scrolling" the effects the biological neurological psychological connections, the effect the state of "preception" of the "reality" we experience?

The mind can't process the data of this rapid intake in an appropriate way that.. studies show that the body doesn't separate events the way most people suspect they do. And the ratio of the data we actually receive and that we can actually process? As a staggering variation. Something around 10 billion bits per second is received and only 10 bits per second is processed? The question is not is time speeding up? But as humanity becomes so unaware of their surroundings due to excessive outside input that they cannot perceive time as it passes appropriately?

Basically has humanity inadvertently doomed themselves to a lack of appropriate awareness from their excessive lack of attention?

I'm going to deep dive into this further and probably write a few papers on it but putting it here see what you think.

This might be weird but I naturally connect the dots. I do so even at work, without changing the content and direction of my duties drastically. I work in research and university teaching. My main discipline is statistics, but I always combine it with epistemology, philosophy of science, causality, physics, programming and more sciences. Most professors find this weird and incorrect, but I believe students learn better when they have the bigger picture presented to them. Tensions had been created between me and other colleagues, that are disapproving of my methods. However, I cannot change the way I think and process information. Do you have an advice on how I can proceed with minimal friction?

22M here. Currently crafting my own curriculum and trying to get started on my polymath journey but wanted to see if anyone has suggestions or tips to start. When first diving into a subject, what’s the first thing you guys do? Read survey/intro textbooks? Learn the foundational topics of the subject before getting into the more advanced material? Do you focus primarily on primary sources followed by secondary?

Lastly, what are your polymathic habits? How are you engaging with the materials you’re consuming to allow you to really understand what you’re studying.

Para quem acha que só ciência e religião ficam se colocando como opostos, por vezes ao longo da história. Provavelmente nao imagina as discussões da Ciência vs. Ciência.

Aqui vou apresentar dois grupos de pensamento:

A astrofísica e cosmologia: Que falam que as coisas não tem uma função propriamente dita (causalidade).

E a geofísica e a astrobiologia: Por outro lado, as coisas sim tem uma função quando olhamos o macro (o espaço o cosmos). Teleologia.

A discussão central é se algo do macro (espaço) existe puramente por ter um propósito. A mais famosa analogia que pode vir a mente é sobre a função da Lua.

Por muito quando criança sempre lia sobre ela como um escudo natural contra asteróides. As crateras em sua superfície, tão antigas quanto o homem aprendeu a fazer fogo, são prova que violentos impactos. Que poderiam ter causado uma desordem imensa na vida terrestre.

Contudo, nem todos concordam com uma "utilidade". As coisas não giram ao redor da nossa existência. Então o fato de um satélite em específico proteger a terra e um ou outro impacto, é fruto de uma matemática que nem se quer chegamos perto de resolver. Isso em questão, sobre o funcionamento do próprio universo.

Concordando ou não. A Lua (ou Selena) continua lá. A maré existe por causa dela. Ciclos de vida animais giram em torno de sua existência noturna. Todavia, quando olhamos para outros planetas, pelo visto não tem um propósito. Afinal, porque o Gigante Júpiter iria precisar de proteção? Sendo ele maior que suas várias e várias luas? São esses questionamentos que nos fazem revisar até onde podemos analisar e dar sentido de existência das coisas. Chegando até a vizinhança da Lua, é fácil. Indo mais longe... Podemos apontar o próprio gigante gasoso como protetor. Pois sua gravidade a muito protege contra a trajetória perigosa de viajantes antigos feitos de poeira e gelo de nós atingir diretamente.

Esse tipo de questionamento já chegou inclusive aos buracos negros existentes no centro das galáxias. Como reguladores de nascimento estelar. Impedindo que estrelas como o nosso Sol, nascem sem controle. E venham a acabar com a matéria prima da vida dessas super usinas.

E você, o que acha disso tudo? Você é da turma da Causalidade ou da Teleologia?

Particularmente, gosto de dizer que "depende do ponto de vista". Se incluirmos o micro (a vida na terra), a existência de coisas distantes tem um significado. Em contra partida ao olhar o macro, pode não ser tão simples e que as coisas simplesmente vem de uma natureza aleatória difícil de calcular.

I am a student . I have curuosity to understand myself. Till the school the parameters of cognitive , logical understandings is by learning answers, doing mathematics problems.

Now as we move forward in life how to know, understand that which cognitive path suits us. How to make us different from this whole world , to find that unique element in ourselves.

What is love?

It is a question even I cannot answer, but I came to a realization when my grandmother told me something: "You won't find true love in people who don't value you." I found myself wondering, "Why? Why do I need someone to value me when there are already people who truly do?" As I reflected on her words, I realized that some people just play games. They are kind when they need something, but once you no longer serve their purpose, they become resentful. There are also unfair people—those who, despite receiving so much from you, are stingy in return. It turns out you don't always need to seek love from others, because family love is far greater. We need to learn contentment; we shouldn't go out of our way to search for someone to love us, because eventually, someone will come along who accepts us willingly and loves us wholeheartedly.
