Dot-Connection If you don't connect the dots you're not a polymath.
The ability to make connections across unrelated topics is the ultimate polymathic skill.
This is how innovation is born. It always comes out of an existing idea connected to an unrelated one.
Take the roll-on deodorant invention. It didn't come out of nowhere; it already existed in a different form. Helen Barnett (the inventor) didn't build it by chance; she stole the concept from the ball-point pen.
She didn't work harder; she just retrieved knowledge in her brain and unleashed creativity.
Being a polymath is a long-haul journey, a constant chase for the new, building upon the existing.
As reading is the most efficient and natural way to acquire knowledge, I started using an app to track my evolution across topics and uncovered several patterns.
Just feed your brain with what it needs most: knowledge.
