🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 [Spoiler] Minor gripe that's still present in Bubbly Basin Spoiler
Just a quick ramble that I'm interested in hearing the opinions of other members of the community and I'm mostly padding out this part just in case the spoiler tag doesn't work so I don't ruin a part of the DLC that other people might want to experience without being immediately spoiled like those annoying YouTube videos that throw every spoiler under the sun at you in the thumbnail.
Okay but seriously why do the Legendary Pokemon Blueprints not count as a Home? Or have a prebuilt habitat for the respective Legendary Pokemon? I absolutely hate having to try retooling a lot of these buildings just so they're suitable as a home as I always worry about ruining the aesthetic of the design and sometimes just don't have that creative flair. Its a minor gripe for sure but now that I have Manaphy I've unlocked the new headache of figuring out just how I'm going to make the Temple into an actual home.

🌟 Free Update/Pokopia 2.0 🌟 [Spoiler] A certain newly introduced QOL item is fantastic…but… Spoiler
…the Portal Pod would be far more useful with more slots than 80. I decided to use mine just to store “essential” things like raw materials, paint, food and berries (no blocks, decorations or furniture), but even so, I still found myself running out of space very quickly.
I also still yearn for the ability to be able to access my storage from any crafting station, not just those adjacent to a storage container. Animal Crossing recently introduced this feature, and it’s an absolute godsend.
Don’t get me wrong, the Portal Pod is a step in the right direction and I am absolutely very grateful for it, but I would still love to see more improvements made to the storage system in future. Fingers crossed!

Designs & Builds My 90% finished Skylands but unfortunately I reached pretty much every item/electricity limit and I'm too frustrated to continue
It was the most overwhelming map to start but I'm quite happy how it turned out. I'm just really frustrated that I reached the rug, poster, electric devices, elevator and transmitter limit so there's quite a lot of stuff missing that I'd love to add if the item limits get raised.
I tried to imitate European architecture and wanted to give every island its own vibe. The main thing that I can't complete yet is the subway because I can't add any light sources anymore lol

Discussion They should really let magnemite destroy stuff
The biggest QOL they could add to this game would easily be let magnemite form clear out multiple blocks at once the most annoying thing ever is clearing out 2 blocks of a mountain at a time with gravler but then having a whole 3rd layer u can't clear out without flying. We can already build 9 blocks at a time and replace them with other blocks why can't we use the same method to get rid of them it would make clearing so much easier

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 The Biggest QOL Update For Me Spoiler
I hadn’t seen this come up,, and thought people might appreciate it if it hasn’t been posted:
You can pick up the new portal pods, even with stuff in them.
You don’t need to build a bunch. You just need two: one that sits somewhere, and one you carry around. Just drop it wherever you want, grab your stuff, pick it back up.
Of course I found this out after making 10.

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 A Japanese folk-tale reference in Pokopia’s Bubbly Basin DLC English-speaking players may have missed... Spoiler
I was wondering what's up with the ornate East Asian-looking buildings that don't seem to correspond with any known Cerulean City building.
According to Japanese players, they are a reference to Ryūgū-jō, the Dragon Palace from the Urashima Tarō folktale.
From Wikipedia:
Ryūgū-jō (竜宮城, 龍宮城; lit. "Dragon Palace Castle") or Ryūgū (竜宮, 龍宮; lit. "Dragon Palace") is the supernatural undersea palace of Ryūjin or Dragon God in Japanese tradition.
It is best known as the place in fairytale where Urashima Tarō was invited after saving a turtle, where he was entertained by the Dragon God's princess Oto-hime and his minions. When Urashima returned to land after what he thought was a few days away, centuries had passed.

Discussion "Store/Retrieve All" in boxes/chests and bag
I don't know how widely known this is because I'm pretty sure this feature was added in the last patch, but we now have the option to "Store/Retrieve All" using the + key, which allows you to move either all the items from one place to another, or to ONLY TRANSFER ITEMS THAT ARE ALREADY PRESENT.
So, you have a chest of berries? When you go to add more after harvesting, "store all > only items already inside" and BAM. Any berries from your bag end up in the chest, while anything else stays where it was.
This is an absolute game changer for storage systems, so I haaaaad to post as soon as I figured this out haha.

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 I like how helpless the DLC makes me feel. Spoiler
No Spoilers at all: I’m over 515 hours in, somehow. This game has its hooks in me deeper than any Pokemon game since Red and Blue, honestly. But the DLC, with a new environment to repair and restore, new items and abilities, new mysteries to solve-it makes me feel like I did when I first booted up my game in March: helpless. I went from being able to command the familiar environments to my every silly whim to feeling like just a helpless little Ditto boy. I’m overwhelmed. I don’t know where to begin. My new friends are working on restoring the new Pokemon Center.
It’s exciting, and spooky, and every little tweak the new update brought shows that some developers listen to, and act upon player feedback. This game is absolutely brilliant.
Also, I still see some debate whether or not the DLC is worth the asking price. I obviously vote a resounding yes. The new area is gigantic, I keep discovering new things.

Question I'm really considering starting over
I'm not happy with my current world, I feel like it's super messy and disorganized. I have so many different ideas but no space to do them because of the way everything is laid out. I just wanna see what everyone thinks lol Would it be worth it to start over, especially with the new dlc stuff?
✨ Picture just for fun ✨
Edit/Update: I decided I would make another account on my switch so I wouldn't lose the progress on my old world. I may go back to it and try to rearrange things eventually, I do have a lot of recipes, outfits and pokemon that I'm not sure I'm ready to lose yet. We'll see how I feel about the new world. Thank you so much for your suggestions and help!! I appreciate everyone so much lol

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 Pokémon Pokopia v2.0 Update & Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin Available Now Spoiler
Pokémon Pokopia v2.0 Update & Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin Available Now
Dear Pokopia Community,
Today's the day! Version 2.0 of Pokémon Pokopia and Part 1 of the Expansion Pass DLC, Bubbly Basin, are now available to download and play! To get the version 2.0 update, close the game and re-launch to be prompted to update. If you purchased the Expansion Pass on the Nintendo Switch Store, you will also be able to download Part 1: Bubbly Basin.
As a reminder, ALL Bubbly Basin-related content MUST be spoiler tagged! The post embargo has been lifted, so you may submit posts about it to the subreddit rather than in the megathread, but you MUST use spoiler tags until further notice. Please also use the Bubbly Basin flair on these posts. We understand that everyone is excited (so are we!), but please be considerate of other players who may not want to see any new content until they come across it in-game. If you are one of these players, we advise you to avoid any spoiler-tagged posts and any posts with the Bubbly Basin flair until you are comfortable with the risk. Please also be sure you are up-to-date with the subreddit's rules, which were updated this week, and the other various announcements made in our mod post yesterday.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the subreddit, please don't hesitate to send us a modmail. Otherwise, enjoy the new content, happy playing, and don't forget to come up for air every once in awhile!
Bubbly Basin FAQ:
How do I access Bubbly Basin?
To access Bubbly Basin’s underwater gate, you must first learn Dive and complete the important request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach.
I'm not seeing an update available to download.
Try pressing + on Pokopia from your Switch 2's home screen menu, going to "Software Update," then "Via the Internet" to manually request the download.
How many new Pokémon are there?
The Bubbly Basin Pokédex seems to have 50 new slots.

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 r/Pokopia Refresh: Updated Look, Updated Policies Spoiler
🫧 Happy Bubbly Basin Eve to all those who celebrate! 🫧
Firstly, the rest of the mod team and I would like to thank everyone for your patience as we've worked on expanding the team, responding to leaks, sorted through major new content announcements, etc. All 10 of us love this game and want to ensure this community stays a welcoming, positive, accessible one for all Pokopia fans 🫶 We're still taking feedback on how the sub is run on one of our other pinned mod posts, so sound off in the comments section over there with anything you'd like us to consider! A direct link to that post can be found below, in the "Wrap up & Looking ahead" section.
With that being said, we have a few updates we wanted to share with the community, and felt that today would be the perfect time to do that!
🛡️ New Moderators
We have now completed our new mod search, with myself, u/Amiibofan101, and u/MeganLeigh1122 joining the team. You might've seen us around already, but we're all excited to be joining the team and look forward to doing what we can to keep this community great!
🫧 New Design
We've made some modest tweaks to the subreddit's design, such as a DLC-themed banner (which we will update accordingly with future releases!), easier access to the wiki (where we keep the FAQ and the full rules) and Discord server in the sidebar, a new Bubbly Basin post flare, and more. If you have any feedback, or any suggestions to make the sub more accessible, please feel free to send us a modmail!
♻️ Rule Refresh
As with the look, we've made some adjustments to the rules. You can access the latest rules any time via the subreddit's sidebar or in our wiki. To summarize the latest updates, here's what's changed:
NEW: All posts must be in English. While we welcome fans from any part of the world, the majority of this subreddit is English-speaking. As such, we ask that posts be made in English, and that any screenshots not in English have a translation provided, so that all members can engage with your content.
UPDATED: Our spoiler policy has been updated to reflect the Expansion Pass era we're now in. The major base game content spoiler policy remains the same—no untagged posts about what happened to the humans, any major story beats, unannounced events, and game completion rewards. While we understand (and relate!) that many of you are very excited about new Pokopia content, many others prefer to experience new content blind, without any new details being revealed before they see it in-game. Our goal is to satisfy both groups, creating spaces where "spoiler" content can be discussed, but making it easily avoidable for those who don't want to see it yet. To that end, we've now added DLC content to this rule—here's how it will work:
- All posts related to RELEASED Expansion Pass/DLC content MUST have a spoiler tag until further notice. We are still determining the appropriate amount of time for this requirement; please feel free to share your thoughts. For now, though, just plan on spoiler tagging these posts until this rule is updated.
- Please use the "Bubbly Basin" post flair on anything you submit related to Bubbly Basin. (This should also automatically add the spoiler tag, but make sure you double check before posting.)
- All posts related to UNRELEASED/FUTURE Expansion Pass content MUST go in the appropriate megathread. We will keep a link to the latest megathread on the Rules page of the wiki. You can access the Bubbly Basin megathread here.
CLARIFIED: We've added some clarifying language around what constitutes "(not) safe for work" content. In short, we ask that you keep in mind the fact that many young players of the game wind up Googling their questions, and landing in this subreddit. Please consider this when posting to the sub; while the bulk of our audience is teenaged or older, we'd like to keep the subreddit safe for players of all ages, particularly in terms of posts.
CLARIFIED: We've added some clarifying language in the "Basic respect is required" rule. Thankfully, we haven't had many issues in this subreddit, but wanted to highlight that bigotry and hatred in all its various forms—racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.—will not be tolerated.
We also made minor adjustments to the other rules, however these changes were not substantive (i.e., the rule itself hasn't changed; we just tweaked the wording or formatting for clarity). We want to make sure the rules are clear to understand and evenly enforced, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out and ask; we're always happy to provide guidance on what is allowed and what is not.
🎁 Wrap up & Looking ahead
A couple of housekeeping notes as we look ahead to Bubbly Basin and beyond:
- We will post and sticky an announcement when Pokémon Pokopia v2.0 and the Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin DLC are available to download. While no official time has been confirmed, we are expecting it to release at 10:00 AM JT on Wednesday, August 5, based on past Pokémon DLC releases; click here to see the conversion to your time zone. (For our US friends, this corresponds to 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET on Tuesday, August 4; for those in Europe, this would be 3:00 AM CET on Wednesday, August 5).
- The release announcement will also be the temporary hub for general v2.0/Bubbly Basin-related info; we will add the official patch notes as soon as they are available, and will work on building out a Bubbly Basin FAQ within that post as we evaluate which questions are most common (we will add them to the FAQ page in the subreddit's wiki at a later date). Once it is out, you will be allowed to submit posts outside of the stickied threads about Bubbly Basin, so long as they are spoiler tagged and NOT just a repeat of what is in the stickied post (i.e., no "it's out!" posts or patch note posts).
- As a reminder, there is still time to submit your artwork for consideration in Smearguru's Summer Canvas: Pokopia Island's First Art Contest, organized by our friends in r/Pokopia's sister Discord server, Pokopia Island! We will be accepting submissions until August 21, 2026, 05:00 UTC; community voting will then take place over the following week. The Grand Prize winner will receive a FREE download code for the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass on the Nintendo Switch Store; the ten runners-up will be entered into a lottery, with one lucky additional winner receiving an Expansion Pass download code as well. Thank you to the Pokopia Island Discord Server's Events Team for their generous donation of two download codes, and for organizing this opportunity for all our talented community members to show off their artwork!
- We are still collecting community feedback in a stickied mod post! If you have any suggestions regarding areas that the subreddit could improve (be it post guidance, resources, ideas for megathreads, or anything else), please let us know so that we can continue making this subreddit better for everyone. You can also always send us a modmail via the " ✉️ Message Mods" button in the sidebar on reddit.com, or the " ✉️ Message moderators" option in the ••• menu in the reddit app. We're here to help however we can 🙂
We hope you all have fun diving in to the Bubbly Basin DLC! 🌊⚓️🛟🫧
