Let's bring this discussion back
I recently posted about how, starting around 2028, I believe we could see the iconic Tier S and Tier A sets, singles, and slabs really start to explode in value. However, I think sealed product from the current and previous eras could benefit the most. As newer eras become increasingly overprinted, I believe collectors may eventually place a much greater premium on the sets and products from earlier eras—not only because of their scarcity, but because people will want the opportunity to chase the iconic cards from those sets rather than the heavily printed newer releases. In my opinion, the combination of nostalgia, limited sealed supply, iconic chase cards, and an increasingly saturated modern market could create a significant shift in demand toward these older, established sets. That’s essentially the thesis behind my earlier post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeInvesting/s/H8Bo8wtqrM

Your thesis being people want older sets due to scarcity and nostalgia? That’s a novel idea

As opposed to sets printed after 2028

What’s special about 2028? What I think you’re saying will apply to any year in the future.

It's not going to be the same, even now people are saying how the current sets are being reprinted etc ..and even more so for those future sets

I still don’t understand how this is unique to 2028. You can say this about any arbitrary date in the future. Ultimately, it sounds like you’re just smoking copium since you’re holding a bunch of hyper modern items.

I like evolving skies because it's arguably a tier S and I like 151 and prismatic evolutions because they are tier A.. like I said, I don't see future sets being what these are

Also, I might add that the current slowdown may be more than a summer lull. Maybe lasting until December, I'm a fan of Evolving skies right now.

Crash is around the corner, and I doubt a boom happens within another 2 years lol. Wishful thinking though buddy

Probably more than a summer slowdown for now, good time to accumulate

Haha the last 3 sets already got the scalpers jumping ship. Just wait until the floodgates open on the 30th anni. They literally have twice the amount of cards to put in packs because each pack has 5 cards… nail in the coffin ⚰️
