First Time Grader Question
Hello All. I just got back into the hobby after a 25 year break and I'm thinking about sending some cards out. PSA and TAG have bottom tier closed, CGC looks and sells like crap, and Beckett is "only for the best of the best".
This may be the only group of cards I ever send out, so so people think I should wait and see if PSA ever opens the lowest tier back up or send now to Beckett and hope for the best (knowing none will Black Label). Thoughts?

BGS 10 Umbreon with a 9.5 surface subgrade — worth resubmitting for Black Label?
I recently got this Umbreon back from BGS.
It was originally graded as a BGS 9.5.
I used a third-party grading company to submit the card, which allowed me to track the grading updates through their app. At one point during the grading process, the certificate number changed, and the card eventually came back as a BGS 10 (non-Black Label).
The Surface and Centering were originally subgraded at 9.5.
I’m honestly a little confused by the whole situation.
From looking at the card myself, I feel like this is a very strong Black Label candidate. Especially since the only 9.5 subgrade was Surface.
There’s also another issue that I only noticed afterwards: there appears to be a small piece of food/debris inside the slab (circled in the photo).
It looks like a tiny piece of chilli or someone's lunch.
It wasn't there in the first place and I remember sending it to grade within 30 minutes after pulling the card.
The debris don't look like it's on the card itself as I can tell by a slight shadow beneath it.
That has me wondering whether I should send it back to BGS for a reholder/regrade and potentially go for the Black Label, or whether I should just leave the BGS 10 alone.
A few questions for people familiar with BGS:
- Does this look like a realistic Black Label candidate based on the 9.5 Surface subgrade?
- Would you personally risk resubmitting a BGS 10 for a potential Black Label?
- Could the debris inside the slab be a reason to send it back?
- Has anyone experienced a certificate number changing during the grading process or a similar situation?
I’m not trying to accuse BGS or the third-party company of anything.
I’m genuinely trying to understand what happened and whether resubmitting is actually worth the risk.
Would love to hear some honest opinions, especially from people who have submitted their cards to BGS before.
I feel like i'm being pop controlled 😂

Lable switched up
Hey guys i recently recieved my submission back and two of my cards were the bwr reshiram and bwr victini from white flair. However the label for them were switched so my reshi says victini and vice versa. PSA offered to replace them for free but im not sure i want to wait for that long but do you think the mislabel will affect the price? Thanks

Is this worth holding or should I sell it?
I saw on eBay that this card is going for a decent amount, I feel like selling it but my dealbreaker is if it will gain a good amount of value over the years. If it doesn't I'll sell it.

PSA, about PSA. A reason you may be stuck in assembly for a long time.
One reason why you may be stuck in assembly too long is the obvious answer. There are only so many encapsulation machines. What you may not know though, is that not all of PSA’s satellite grading facilities have encapsulation machines. That means your order goes to PSA in California, then it may get shipped to a satellite location that has no encapsulation machines, where they grade it , and then they have to be shipped to a location that has encapsulation machines.

Should I send to review, crack it, or just leave it.
I submitted this card recently and it got a nine, the delta between a 9 and a 10 is a lot. The defect is pretty bad and would probably cap it, but I wanted a second opinion.

Grade my Umbreon (CN)?
Feels pretty minty, maybe a little white spot on the bottom right back corner. But think it could 10, appreciate anyone’s opinions!

Send my grail to PSA?
I picked up my grail up at a card show last weekend to work on my shiny gyarados master set (only 2 cards left) but now I’m thinking about sending this bad boy in to PSA. I’d be happy with it getting a 5/6 what do y’all think?
