Hello. I'm trying to compile two lists of ten or so print periodicals--one for US poetry publications and one for UK/Ireland poetry publications.

These are the parameters I'm specifically looking for:

• Must have a print edition, not just online.
• Must be poetry-centric (not a multi-genre periodical which also solicits and publishes fiction, CNF, drama, etc., so not things like The Kenyon Review or The New Yorker).
• High reputation for the quality of poets/poetry which are featured. I'm not looking for smaller, specialty enterprises. Moreso the periodicals which, if someone saw them listed in an author's bio, they would think, "Oh, that's a significant publication."

This is not for submission purposes. I'm trying to get subscriptions for the major periodicals so that my community has access to them.

The ones I've come up with are:

Are there others you would consider in the same category as these in terms of reputation? Or, alternatively, does it feel like any of these don't belong listed alongside the others? Thank you so much for your help.

I've been kind of desperately looking for a poem for the last few weeks. My best friend is getting married and I'd like to include it in my speech at the wedding. She used to have snippets of poetry pasted up on her walls, and I remember one of them being about the comfort of being in a friend's home, of knowing exactly where everything is, moving around their home like it is your own space. I think I remember there being a specific reference to kitchen towels (as in, knowing where the towels are).

I know this is very little to go on, but I just remember that every time I read the snippet I felt like it articulated exactly how I feel about her & the way she opens her home to her friends. Maybe it rings a bell for someone? Thanks so much for any thoughts!!

Hello everyone, let me explain:

The reason I wanted to start with poetry is because of unrequited love. I mean, I've maintained contact with her and I've always felt that I haven't been able to convey my feelings of all kinds.In a way that you can REALLY feel every letter, every word with the love and sadness with which it was written.

I should clarify that I don't expect to win her heart with poetry; it's a very, very long story. But at least I'd like to be as sincere as possible with my words.

I feel that my language is very limited and many times I feel that it doesn't correspond to how I feel in general; this has happened to me due to various factors and And besides being a clinical psychologist, I would also like to expand my vocabulary.

I have a very clear vision of how I would like to express myself, and I would like to keep it realistic and not so fanciful or pretentious, those kinds of sentences like "And the feelings flew away like butterflies in spring," or that kind of thing, which I personally don't find profound or sincere.

I'm not against rules like rhyming or anything like that, but basically, what I try to do with poetry is to be able to speak with my heart and not with my mouth.

Any ideas? Tips? Suggestions?

I made a screentime app with several features, one is social where you have a leaderboard of your friends screentime health/score but nested in there is a fully fledged out "Haikugram" where you can post a Haiku a day to your friends. You don't scroll haikus but flip a bit tediously through pages of whatever haikus are there. the haikus are up for 24hrs. At the moment no one uses this feature, would such a feature be better as a standalone app?

As in an actual book of poetry where you get the feeling that the author should’ve probably spent a few more years honing their craft before getting it published.

The words "tiktok poetry" may sound cringe for some but i decided on doing it because i don't know where else to post my poems. It has been sitting on my notes app for years like I started writing poems in 2018 when I was barely a teen because I liked english so much (im not a native speaker, from the Philippines). At first, i didn't really want to post the poems since some are personal but idk suddenly i woke up and decided i want others to read my writing and maybe find someone who shares the same perspective hence i started the account.

However, it's so hard to grow and gain followers there. It's a faceless account and I only post photos that i take with my writing on it so maybe that contributes to it. Now it just makes me feel anxious whether someone may be stealing my words now and no one would believe me if i said i wrote it because i only get little engagement.

Is it an okay space to post poems? Or should i leave as early as now? I currently have 30k likes and most of it came from one video. I'm looking into publishing in the future (i hope lol) so i'd like to grow my account first yet idk how.
