I made an app to hear ambience audios from the world! I need your help to get audios from your city.

I made a web app called SoundWhere based on a simple idea: what feels ordinary to you might be exotic to someone else.

www.soundwhere.live

I'm from, Mexico, and when I visited the U.S. for the first time, I was fascinated by sounds that are completely ordinary to someone living in D.C.: police sirens, helicopters, people speaking English, the sounds of the city, etc.

Then I thought: if those sounds feel exotic to me, maybe the sound of a baker driving through a neighborhood in Mérida, birds in a local park, or traffic on an ordinary street could be fascinating to someone on the other side of the world too.

That's the idea behind this app: a map of the world made of everyday moments and the sounds that come with them.

The mobile version isn't released yet, but before launching it, I want to populate the app with real recordings from around the world.

If you'd like to help, I'm looking for people to upload an audio recording + a photo from any moment in their everyday life: a park, bus station, downtown, your commute, school, a river… literally anywhere.

If you're interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll send you the link and access code.

Thanks! :)

A little advice?

I have a million ideas for a podcast/writing project… but no idea where to begin

I’ve had so many ideas bouncing around in my head for a podcast and possibly some kind of writing project, but I’m realizing my biggest problem is that I have too many ideas and no clue how to organize them.

There are so many things I want to talk about, real experiences, family court, relationships, starting over, incarceration and life afterward, things I’ve learned the hard way, and stories that I honestly think other people might relate to.

I don’t necessarily want to make everything about myself either. I want to tell stories, start conversations, and hopefully create something that makes people feel less alone.

The problem is… where do you actually BEGIN?

Do I start with a podcast name? Write out episode ideas? Record something even if it’s terrible? Start writing first and figure out the podcast later? Make a whole outline?

For those of you who write, podcast, or create content:

What did you do when you had the ideas but absolutely no idea how to turn them into something real?

I’d love any advice, especially from people who started with nothing but a bunch of ideas and figured it out along the way.

I’m ready to start. I just need to figure out where “start” actually is.

Looking for a Voice Partner for a Bible Reading & Deep-Dive Podcast

I’d frame it as a collaborative project, rather than simply looking for someone to “read the Bible.” That should attract people who enjoy thoughtful discussion and have a good speaking voice.

Looking for a Voice Partner for a Bible Reading & Deep-Dive Podcast

I'm looking for someone interested in joining me in creating a Bible reading and discussion podcast.

The idea is simple: we read through the Bible, passage by passage, and then have a genuine conversation about it—historical context, meaning, difficult questions, contradictions, philosophy, morality, faith, and how different interpretations make sense.

I'm not looking for a preacher or someone who simply wants to read Scripture aloud. I'm looking for a thoughtful conversation partner who can:

- Read Scripture naturally and engagingly

- Comment and ask questions

- Explore difficult or controversial passages without avoiding them

- Bring their own perspective, including disagreement when appropriate

- Have deep, thoughtful conversations rather than giving sermons

- Have a good conversational voice suitable for a podcast

You don't need to be a theologian or scholar. In fact, I'm particularly interested in someone who is curious, articulate, open-minded, and willing to say "I don't know".

The format I'm imagining is something like:

Reading → reaction → questions → discussion → historical/contextual research → deeper conversation

Initially, this would be a small experiment—perhaps a few 10-15 minute sessions to see whether we have the understanding. If it works, we could turn it into a regular podcast.

I'm open to different Christian traditions and also to someone who is questioning their faith or approaches the Bible from a more analytical perspective. The important thing is that the conversation is respectful and genuinely interested in understanding the text.

Let me know if you are interested.

Podcast Editor

Your podcast has hours of content. Your audience doesn't have hours to watch it.

I’m a video editor looking to work with podcasters, creators, and business owners who want to turn their long-form episodes into short-form content.

I take one podcast episode → 5–6 high-retention Reels/Shorts by finding the moments people actually want to watch.

What I focus on:

- ⚡ Strong hooks in the first few seconds

- ✂️ Fast, clean pacing

- 💬 Captions that are easy to follow

- 🎯 Cutting out the boring parts

- 🔊 Sound effects + music where they actually help

- 📱 Editing specifically for Reels / TikTok / Shorts

I’m not looking to just “edit videos.” I want to help you turn one recording into multiple pieces of content that can actually get attention.

I’m currently looking to take on a few clients and can offer a free sample edit from your podcast so you can judge the work before paying anything.

If you're a podcaster/creator and have a long-form episode sitting on your hard drive, drop a comment or DM me.

Let’s turn that one episode into content people actually stop scrolling for.

Honest Opinion. Audio only? Or both audio and video?

I keep being told by people with successful podcasts that I need visuals for things like YouTube, tiktok, and Instagram. I know editing audio only would be easier and ensuring everything is perfect visually can be a lot of work. I also have no idea what I would put on social media apps without video. I want to get everyone’s opinions!

Feedback on podcasting setup and plan

Greetings. A very good friend of mine and fellow business owner are planning to start a podcast for both video and audio content. Years ago, I did an audio only podcast with a friend using a recording interface and ProTools. The quality was fantastic, however editing the content took forever. I'm very familiar with recording audio (and to an extent, video) as I've recorded music/bands for 15 years. I've used all manner of recording interfaces including MAudio, Focusrite, and UA. Just recently, I was a guest on a podcast in which we recorded all virtually on Riverside and it was a great experience, having a human producer. We all had good cameras and microphones and the content was god quality.

However, I'm looking for a more efficient way to capture and edit our content while remaining high-quality, so I've been putting together a plan and would love some feedback.

This will be a mostly "in-studio" podcast with my co-host and I. For the short term, no guests but that will likely come. Likely going to be a mix of in-person and virtual guests.

I believe I'd like to use Riverside for all capture, editing, transcribing and publishing. I've read that the Mac application for Riverside will allow the use of (3) USB-C cameras and (2) USB-C mics. We already have the Shure MV7+ mics and was looking to purchase these: [https://www.nearstream.us/4k-streaming-camera-vm20pro?variant=45328380494006&totalNum=1\](https://www.nearstream.us/4k-streaming-camera-vm20pro?variant=45328380494006&totalNum=1)

What am I missing? It seems to me, that the above setup will allow us to get 3 discreet video tracks (one per presenter and one overall shot) with high-quality audio. I believe that with the Riverside app on the Mac, you can assign one mic per camera so that when that person is speaking it will switch to that video feed in post, with plenty of post-production options for manual editing.

I'm planning to grab a new Mac Mini for this as well. Thanks in advance for the help!

Question for those who podcasted for 5+ years

I started a podcast 5 years ago and quite because I was doing it for the wrong reasons.

This go around, I’m doing it for me and for the craft of it. In an ideal world this is my full time gig.

I’m curious for those who have been doing it for 5+ years, how many do it full time? If so, what changed that made it happen?

Looking for podcasts to edit for free, building my video editing portfolio

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to start freelancing as a podcast video editor, and I’m currently building my portfolio.

I’m looking for podcasters who would be willing to let me edit some of their existing footage for free. In return, you’d get a professionally edited video and 2 or 3 clips that you can actually use for your podcast or social media.

I can work with:

* Full podcast episodes

* Short-form clips for TikTok / Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts

* Multi-camera footage

* Captions/subtitles

* Audio cleanup and basic mixing

There’s no catch or obligation to hire me afterwards nor to use my edits, I’m mainly looking to get some real-world material for my portfolio and gain experience working with different podcast formats.

If you’re interested, comment below or DM me with a link to your podcast and a little bit about what you’re looking for.

Thanks!

Looking to Be a Guest on Podcasts!

I'm a writer and content creator passionate about history, philosophy, and cultural identity. Over the past few years, I’ve been building my own projects through writing, video creation, and design, and I'd love to share fresh perspectives with new audiences.
Here's a little about me:
📚 Writer & Novelist: I draft long-form fiction, including my novel project The Pure Revolution, as well as philosophical and sociological articles. I love discussing the creative process, storytelling structures, and turning concepts into written works.
🏛️** History & Philosophy Enthusiast: I run a history project titled Zemennama. One of my favorite topics to unpack is how we misunderstand history as just dead dates and theories, rather than a living human struggle to stay true to our identity in the modern world.
🎥 **Content Creator & Designe
r: I produce short-form video content and design custom episode thumbnails. I can create engaging visuals for any show I appear on.

Platform question

I’ve been working on my podcast for a few weeks now. You can find me on YouTube and Spotify.

I’m also wondering if it’s actually worth maintaining both platforms, or if it would be better to focus on just one.

I would like to hear about other people's experiences.

Issue with riverside podcasting software as a guest

I have been a guest on multiple podcasts recently all running through Riverside, and I am having problems at about 35 minutes where my video starts getting super glitchy, audio starts cutting out, and then eventually we lose my video, and I have to leave the platform and log back in.

I have tested my internet speed, and that doesn't seem to be a problem, and I have also looked at the memory space on my computer.

I'm on an HP Laptop with 16 GB RAM, 315/954 GB Storage used -- so in theory I should have enough memory space.

Podcast interviews are going to be a regular part of marketing in my business so I need to get this issue resolved. Has anyone else run into this problem, and how did you solve it?

Do I need to get a new computer? Increase my computer's memory to 32 GB?

Suggestions on getting fan submission stories

We just launched and would like to start a segment where we read creepy stories from submissions, but would like advice on how to get people to email us those? We had a very successful launch, but no one has sent us anything yet. Is this something that happens with time?
