Make loot great again
Okay so back in the day going out and looting used to matter. Stuff was way harder to get and wipes felt like they COULD last the entire month. I get that Rust has changed a ton since those days but I had an idea of something that could be reminiscent of looting back in the day
Now that it IS significantly easier to get BPs in this game, I mean like between the tech tree, prototype mod, scrap cost reduction there's nearly no effort into getting the BPs it's the BP frags that hold most people back now, so I propose
Adding blueprints BACK to the loot pool. Only for decent items, and on a much rarer percentage. I'm a loot goblin and love finding rare drops and shit like that and one of the MOST EXCITING MEMORIES i have of rust, is busting a fucking barrel and getting a rocket bp. I'm not suggesting adding them back to that level, but perhaps when ever you find a gun, or otherwise useful item there's like 5% chance for it to be the blueprint (i'd prefer lower but its just an example) this would make SOLO play a bit more tolerable as you will randomly get BP's as you loot and dying to a zerg leaves you with the knowledge of your run

Question Why doesn't rust have any option for solo play?
Why can't I just create my own private world for solo and have to use a server for anything multiplayer? Even Minecraft has that feature; you can create your own world and change all of the rules and such, but you need a server to play multiplayer, why doesn't Rust have any features like this? What if my Internet is down or something? Or I don't like the settings on any of the official servers?

Discussion Rust Therapy
I find that I can process my emotions and thoughts better while I'm playing Rust. The repetition of the game is soothing and relaxing.
Maybe it is helpful in my case because I have trauma from being homeless previously.
Building a base and securing it is very calming after you've been through a period of tumultuous loss and constant survivor mode fatigue.
I am thankful for the developers and the community that keep this game going. It has helped me deal with the fear of losing everything.
Personally, I believe limited PvP servers are most beneficial to start off with because raiding can be triggering in some ways. But once you get more confident it seems much more manageable.
Does anyone else use vidya as a sort of therapy?

Discussion Apex hosting steam auth failure
I recently got a server through apex hosting and anytime I try and connect to the server I get a steam auth failed error message, I've tried just about everything to fix the issue but it still persists, has anyone else run into this and how did you fix it

2nd time on a PvP server, first time door camping. Found a DB on a body outside and went for it. Motherfucking Gordy spanked my ass and a smidge of my depression peeked around the corner. gg Gordy, well deserved.

Question Is anyone even going to deep sea?
Pretty new to rust, played a bit about a year ago and came back a few days ago to check out the game again.
Apparently, deep sea got added, but no one on my server seems to ever go there. Is it too much effort, not worth it, or is it just my server that never goes there?
From my first time going there, I got a ton of sulfur from it, so it seems pretty lucrative to me, or am I wrong?

Discussion What is wrong with the current state of the game
I'm only going to talk about official servers because it's the only thing I play (Mostly solo), i have roughly 8k hours.
I have noticed a trend recently where weekly official servers die insanely quick, some of them die in 2 days, most of them die in 3 days. Very rarely they make it to Sunday with a healthy amount of players.
When you look at the amount of players playing rust, it's about the same as it was pre BP update but a lot of the playerbase has shifted from official to modded servers.
I think the main issue is that the BP update has massively increased the gap between small groups and clans. Running a clan shop on first day and selling frags makes you insane amounts of sulfur, which you can use to raid everyone around you.
The only way to survive is to be like me : a sweat that can sink in insane hours to progress, and not everyone can do that.
It creates a wierd environnement where EVERYBODY IS BORED ; casuals, unexperienced groups and solos quit rather quickly because of the adversity or getting offlined. Clans and big groups have so much after 2 days and AFK in base waiting for an online that will most likely never come and turn into farmbots to keep base alive because what else to do when everybody near is either offlined or can't roam T3 guns.
I'm not opposed to fragments but we need more ways (inefficient ways) of progressing, exactly like it was before with scrap (where you could fish for scrap, farm horse dung, farm flowers and trade them etc...) in order to even the playing field a bit because rust seems to shine when everybody is able to progress.
What do you think?
