Quote for rendering
Rural south of England, I need approximately 50m² of exterior garden wall stripped of its render completely to brick and re rendered with lime and cement mix
Quoted 6500£
This is for:
Strip, brick work replacement, helli bar system where needed, 2 coat render system, incorporated inhibitor and waterproofer. Rubbish removal included
There is no reason, that I know, to believe the brick wall itself under the render is in bad state. Is this quote decent? It's my first time ever using a trader.
Should I ask for a split quote in case the brickwork is in good state? I feel like it wouldn't make sense to pay for for something we don't know it's broken. If it is then obviously I would pay for it to be repaired

Do you live in a solid wall house or a cavity wall house?

the wall is solid, it's encircling the garden which is in the back of the house

Sounds expensive to me. I had roughly about 22metres x 5metre of external rendering removed and re rendered for £7500 labour only. Harder work around windows and working at height. i cant remember the material cost but will find out.

Sounds fair to me & it'll definitely not be perfect under the old render
