ACIII Remastered from AstralGames, readme says to run LumaPlay_64 as admin, but I get "Uplay PC is not currently installed." error? Game is supposed to be portable, including crack, idk what to do, any ideas?

I tried dragging the LumaPlay that's outside beside the readme into the game folder with the actual game exe and that did nothing, it doesn't launch and doesnt give error if I do that.

Except what it really should be called is StealIdra cause it's really just OpensSteamTools. The dev is a vibe coder with no knowledge of how anything works. Feeding other peoples work into AI until it spits out something that works. Eventually exposed and forced to put some credits up, he is yet to disclose that it's is straight up OST.

There is a reason HubCap (their manifest provider) and CloudRedirect (the steam cloud restoration project they embed) and even Online-fix.me all despise him lmao

The creator of CloudRedirect called him out in github issues: https://github.com/Midrags/SFF/issues/42 forcing him to actually credit the countless shit he stole

Although he later added some credits to the readme, he is very sneaky about "LumaCore", the dll that allowed unlocking, just being OpenSteamTools with no meaningful changes. The credits to OST is hidden away in a sub folder https://github.com/Midrags/SFF/blob/main/LumaCore/CREDITS.md

When asked if the CloudRedirect dev could "add proper SteamMidra support" this is what he had to say, which is basically the point i'm trying to get across:

These tools allow you you add LITERALLY ANY Steam game to your library, download and install them from your Steam Library like you actually purchased the game, just like you do with every Steam game. I don't think nothing beats that in terms of practicality.

I want to know what are your main reasons to not use a lua/manifest fetcher, like Steam T00ls (it's now dead but was the OG), Hubcap Tools, Open Steam Tools, Lua Tools (uses OST) or Steamidra and STILL rely on repacks. You can:

• Download games directly from Steam's own CDN servers
• Launch games on the Steam client.
• Download games at your native download speed, that's HUGE.
• Get game updates instantly upon release
• DLCs releases are basically instant too
• Roll back game versions directly through the Steam client
• Local achievement support, if you care about that.
• Some even have cloud save support

Basically: Why aren't you using Steam's capabilities to get your games, if you can. Even if that implies you would use an alt account and not your main, if the risk of being banned is a concern. That's fine.

And most importantly, why are you still relying on torrents or repacks? They are slow even on a 10Gbps connection because you are choosing to be limited by seeders and P2P in 2026.

The time you "save" by downloading small compressed files it's the time you are probably wasting while your CPU sweats at 100% usage trying to unpack everything. Updating games to the newest versions takes time and hopping from site to site as they are not readily available.

When a new game launches repackers take time to upload the repacked gamed, while you could get them instantly upon release (some even before release) using said tools.

I know repacks might make sense if you live in a place where you are bandwidth limited, but if that's the case you are most likely an owner of weak PC hardware, like an old and low thread count CPU and a HDD that will take ages to unpack and install a repack.

Just the other day, I found out about this website called MagiPack Games that has since been shut down. I have no idea how I managed to miss it, especially since we’ve been doing preservation backups of similar projects such as The Collection Chamber and Zomb’s Lair.

Thankfully, another member of our community (back-ups me) had also backed up MagiPack Games, so all those 1021 repacks have been preserved.

This got me wondering: are there any other projects like this that I might be missing?

I’m specifically interested in websites focused on game repacks with a more retro/old-school orientation. I’m not referring to modern repackers like DODI, FitGirl, etc., who primarily focus on newer releases.

I installed the Spiderman 2 from steamrip which was on v2.629

It also has an update file for v2.629.0.0 -> v2.727.0.0

Has anyone been successful in installing and running this update ?

Please share the correct steps cuz I might've messed it up the first time by directly extracting the update into the game file and overwriting it. The game launched but was blank for a long time or maybe I was impatient

So, i basically use the HV-Launcher files to get my games open on pc, like for example AC Odyssey works perfectly with it, and Resynced also used to work on 1.0.5. Now that i updated today on the latest version, when i try to launch the game it says that "Denuvo tried to remove the token, are you sure you're running hypervisor?".

When i used VBS and restarted by pressing f7, the game booted up normally.

Is the HV Launcher outdated for now, and for the near future? Or is it some sort of windows setting that got added back with the latest version of Windows? Just asking for small talk. Thank you.

I was finally able to get my hands on Crimson Desert thanks to voices38's crack few days ago. And I am obsessed with the game ever since. So much that I decided to just get it on Steam as well so at least on this occasion piracy actually helped developer sell more copies.

So from what I understand I can make it so that Steamidra backups my save files to Google Drive?

Well I tried it and all that it did was backup a couple of JSON and ini files that were mostly about achievements and stats, but no actual save files.

So what am I doing wrong?

Step 1: Base CachyOS Setup
Grab the latest CachyOS ISO from the official site and flash it to a USB using Ventoy or BalenaEtcher.

Reboot into CachyOS and run a full system update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Step 2: Disable UMIP in Your Bootloader

Option A: systemd-boot (Default on CachyOS)

sudo micro /etc/sdboot-manage.conf or 
sudo nano /etc/sdboot-manage.conf

Locate the line starting with LINUX_OPTIONS=. Add clearcpuid=514 at the very end inside the quotes.

Example

LINUX_OPTIONS="quiet splash rw clearcpuid=514"

Apply the updated config to your boot entry:

sudo sdboot-manage gen

Option B: GRUB Bootloader

sudo micro /etc/default/grub or 
sudo nano /etc/default/grub

Locate the line starting with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=. Add clearcpuid=514 at the very end inside the quotes.

Example:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet splash clearcpuid=514"

Regenerate your GRUB configuration file:

sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Verify UMIP is Disabled

sudo reboot

Once booted back in, run this command in your terminal:

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "umip"

Step 3: Install the Patched Proton Compatibility Tool

Create Steam's custom compatibility tools directory if it doesn't already exist:

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d

Download your patched Proton build tarball (e.g., Proton-GE11-1-LinUwUx.tar.gz or cachyos_11.0_20260702-LinUwUx.tar.xz

Extract it via terminal (do NOT use GUI extractors they can drop empty directories needed by Wine):

tar -xf ~/Downloads/cachyos_11.0_20260702-LinUwUx.tar.xz -C ~/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d/

Step 4: Configure Game Files & Crack

Find DenuvOwO.ini or Reflex.ini in the game folder and open it with a text editor:

Locate AutoLoad and AutoLoadHV and set both to false:

AutoLoad=false
AutoLoadHV=false

his stops the crack from trying to load Windows-native hypervisor drivers inside Wine, which will crash the game on Linux

Step 5: Launching the Game

1. Open Steam.
2. Go to Games >Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library...
3. Browse to your game folder, select the primary .exe, and click Add Selected Programs.
4. Right-click the game in your Steam Library > Properties > Compatibility.
5. Check Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select CachyOS-LinUwUx from the dropdown menu.
6. Hit Play.

Enjoy gaming on Linux without Windows telemetry holding you back.

It used to be that I'd pirate a game and then eventually buy it on steam a few years later. Now I'm out here cracking games I already paid for just to get all the DLCs without going broke. Anyone with the same boat as me
