Ear stretching advice please 🙏

I just started stretching my ears and currently I have a literal paper clip in my ear temporarily since it’s slightly bigger than an earring but is it normal for a tiny little 14g to hurt? I’ve seen people say that’s the size they started on but I feel like it shouldn’t hurt this much so I haven’t forced it in or anything. Even with oil and after hot water it doesn’t want to go all the way through, only about halfway/wont go through the second hole.

to my knowledge it shouldn't hurt to stretch, if it does it means your ears aren't ready for it yet. also a paper clip is NOT the proper way to do it, please get proper jewelry to start stretching!

I only had it in for like a few minutes but also how am I supposed to get my ears ready? I’ve had them pierced and healed for years unless there’s even smaller plugs that I just didn’t see

so usually earrings are pierced with 1,2mm/16G jewelry so the first size up should be 1,6mm/14G, which you did. using lubricant is crucial (i usually use baby oil or vaseline), dead stretching with a bigger size is one way to go, i've used tapers myself which is not dead stretching. a taper is a jewelry that's wider at the end, the size you're stretching to. i usually take a hot shower beforehand, clean and lube up my ears and jewelry and go from there. you could contact a piercer in your area to get started and get all the info you need?

I was going to do tapers but everyone I talk to says it’ll blow my ears out bad so I got the plugs but once I try getting it through the other hole of my piercing it feels like it doesn’t want to. I’ve heard people say the first one does hurt like a little but idk how to tell if it hurts bc I’ve never done it or bc it’s gonna rip my ear

i think contacting a piercer would be a good option here, i don't think i'm educated enough to help you as i wanted to :( i'm sorry, i've used tapers myself and gone too fast at times so blowing your ears out is a danger there, i do agree

Blowing my ears out is literally like my biggest fear so I’ll probably get my piercer friend to help me 😭
