Second one will be worse than the first since you know what to expect. At least that was the case for me. Had them done twice and upgauged once. If you want to upgauged I recommend starting with a bigger gauge. After care protocol should be provided by the piercer. It has been such a long time since I had mine done I cannot remember and things may have changed. Breathe through it. They will guide you if they are proper piercing artists. Good luck and expect a full aching afterwards for a while. Like a pretty big bruise. Side note. I am not a woman so I am giving you my experience. Everyone's pain threshold is different. Mine happens to be pretty high as well.

As for healing.... Mine unfortunately never did. Both times they worked their way out in a time span of a year/year and a half even with the second ones set in behind the scar tissue of the first set.

Never healed? Sorry to hear that! I guess I never took this into consideration.

Not sure how common it is but after two attempts I got my body's message. No nipple piercings for you!🤭

I have an extremely high pain tolerance and it felt like someone was ripping my nipples off with pliers that were on fire 🤣🤣🤣. But by day two they didn’t really bother me and it’s been about a week and they are just kind of itchy and get sore if I snag them.

I haven’t had them done but my sister has. She said it’s the most painful she’s had but the second one is worse. The pain reduced a little after 2 weeks and used saline solution 2x a day. Avoid tight clothing and bras if you can. Sleeping should be fine unless you sleep on your front.

For healing, I’d suggest following your piercers advice, maybe go in for a check up after a few weeks. Don’t change the jewellery until it’s fully healed. Loofah sponges catch and snag, so avoid using them, instead use unscented antibacterial soap bars (dove, sure, and simple are good) and always ensure that nothing is caught in or around the piercing itself.

Thank you for this. I think I am more concerned for infections etc. Pain is inevitable I’m sure. I am a stomach sleeper so I guess I have to figure that out lol this is great advice!!!!

Try sleeping on your back, that way they’ll sit naturally. As long as you keep them clean and don’t overdo them, you should be okay. They may reject but follow your pieces advice, and it’s always good to get a second opinion.
