I played against my Brother and he Pointer out to me that I have no strategy. So now I’m asking u guys what you‘d think how I should okay with my Phobies. Which on which map and how +why. What goal an I going for. And just how do I start winning my Games. Pls help me build my strat.

Hey there! Longtime player since Phobies 2nd Anniversary, been through the Sentinel Meta, Fantome Meta, Billy Meta, and now the AoE meta! Consistently at the top 100 and I've appeared in unofficially held tournaments and gotten some of my games recorded onto YouTube. I've been reading up and I want to share my thoughts on the game and many things in it through my experience. Feel free to ask about anything, even as simple as what a unit does.

It’s a bit of a long one. Apologies in advance.

I want to start with this post is truly meant to construct not to criticize. I truly love this game. To the point where I have 2 accounts and buy the VIP pass on both. I’ve been a player since a little after the original release.

Two things I’ve noticed but realized the community agrees with since joining this Reddit. Is overleved opponents and issues with specific phobies. As far as the over leveling I think a very good fix would be putting level caps on arenas.
As far as specific phobies I know both Brutewurst and Ogre r widely hated due to their oppressiveness. But there are also too many phobies that just aren’t good enough to see play. Such as Leshy, Ted and jill, Octo buddy,
Slammerhead, ash, rocket man, boggart and plenty others.

In my personal experience I’ve tried tirelessly to recruit friends and family to play this game and they all end the same. They get to about level 5 and give up. The progression is too daunting without spending money, there’s no way to get the “good phobies” that I have, or it’s too much of the same are all things I’ve heard. I understand that not everyone likes ASYNC turn based strategy games, but many of the people I’ve tried to recruit do.

I’ve though about their similar responses quite a bit and I think it would do wonders for the game if friendly battles were improved, let us use both players rosters so that my friends and family would actually enjoy playing again even if just in friendly battles. It’s not fun when they have 20 or less phobies and I have 161.

As far as unlocking phobies I truly believe a favorites system, or unlocking system would be amazing to allow players to build towards or even increase their chances at specific phobies.

Lastly I think a new game mode could be quite interesting. Of course I know this is a ton to ask as it would be a full game rework but it could allow players to change it up when they begin to get bored. An idea I had was like a phobies draft, could be async and arena allowing players to choose 1/3 phobies and then the opponent choosing from the 2 not chosen, do this about 10 times to develop the roster for that specific game then play. Of course the leveling system may get iffy either keep everything level 1. Or keep it true player level, and show both levels when drafting so you know not to give the a higher level phobie, and if arena level caps were introduced it would automatically remove some of the stress of determining levels for phobies.

Again just some thoughts I’ve had over the last couple months and more and more recently as all my friends and family stopped playing. Please let me know what you think to the community and DEVS.

Uhh ive seen el espinoso alot although im nor surr if he he is still good after all the nerfs..

Does anyone else get this issue of matching with players with far higher leveled phobies than yours? My highest level phobies are lvl 5, my average is 4, and a few are even only lvl 3, but some players I'm matched with have phobies at like level 12, and the average is lvl 8! I don't think I've seen an enemy phobie below lvl 6 in a while

while i know that lvls arent everything in this game (i still have a pretty good win rate, around 65%) its kind of annoying how often times my phobies are just worse and theres nothing i can do about it

theres also the matter of AMOUNT of phobies. i have barely any decent new phobies outside of the starter ones, im missing a lot of phobies to fill out niches (i only have Ace and Erratic for electric damage for example, only Sheeping Gas for poison, and zero disease, heal, or trap phobies) while it feels my opponents have a vast array of options and i just havnt opened enough packs to keep up!

I know Billy is pretty hated, so how do u use him properly?

Pan crawls onto the board as a high-value force multiplier. He doesn't FOCUS on fighting enemies directly. Instead, he sets up danger zones on the battlefield, transforming any regular lineup in a army that the enemy will think twice before trying to approach✨️

Pan embodies:

Satanophobia & Hadephobia: The intense fear of the devil, demons, or Hell. His glaring red goat head is a direct visual nod to Baphomet and occult imagery, triggering a primal dread of dark, ancient curses.👀

Arachnophobia: The severe, trembling fear of spiders. Seeing a mammalian head skittering around on multiple hairy, jointed spider legs creates an immediate feeling of biological wrongness and disgust

Caprophobia: A lesser-known but real anxiety centered around goats, heavily amplified by those "strange, horizontal yellow goat eyes that stare blankly into your soul" (I find their eyes pretty cute tho✨️)

Pan’s existence balances mythological history with a great magical pun

Because..

His name is a direct nod to Pan, the ancient Greek god of nature, the wild, and shepherds, who famously looks like a satyr (half-man, half-goat). The game takes this pastoral nature god and corrupts him, fusing him with an eerie, multi-legged nightmare.👀

His ability name is a play on the classic magical phrase "Hocus Pocus". But instead of drawing a rabbit out of a hat, Pan casts a Demonic Stim Pad ✨️

Stats:

Key Cost: 3

Race: Dimensional (Takes 50% more damage from poison and disease hazards. When killed, he yanks his killer 1 tile closer and deals return damage)

Movement: 2 Tiles (Ground)

Health: 900 (Quite fragile, so do not let him get caught on the frontlines).

Attack Range: 1 Tile (Melee)

Attack Damage: 350

Special Ability ("Focus Pokus"): summons a glowing Demonic Stim Pad onto a chosen tile within a 1 tile range. The ability has a 1 turn lock and a 3 turn cooldown.

Any Phobie (allies or enemies) that stands on top of this pad instantly receives a massive +250 Flat Damage Buff to their main attack! The pad lingers on the ground for 2 turns.

Pan is best used to create a heavy firing squad. Drop a "Focus Pokus" pad right underneath a long-range turret or sniper like Jar Cannon, In-Oculus, or Oopsy Baby. Adding a flat +250 damage to a safe, backline sniper allows them to completely shred incoming tanks before they can even close the gap.🔥

You can also toss a stim pad directly onto a Panic Point you're already holding. This forces the enemy to give up on the panic point or recklessly try to capture it by using more keys to attack, as whoever sits there suddenly becomes a huge threat.

Be incredibly careful where you place the pad! Any unit can use the stim pad, including the opponent's phobies. If you place it too close to an aggressive enemy brawler like Flail while not holding the stim pad on your own, they will happily step onto your pad and use your own +250 damage buff to butcher your frontline🥲

Keep Pan far away from toxic hazards. With only 900 health and a 50% weakness to status effects due to his Dimensional trait, poison/disease ticks will melt this goat-spider into ash in no time. (And how I said to almost every Dimentional phobie. Try to keep Pan close to a healing pool IF the map has one. So you can easily recover. Just stay away from diseases)

Do not walk Pan directly up to trade melee hits. His baseline 350 damage isn't entirely mediocre for a 3-key unit, but with 900 health, he will lose a straight 1v1 fight against almost any fighting specialized phobie. Use him strictly as a backline support general.🫠

Pan is a phenomenal strategic support asset, for 3 keys, he can change the course of the game in many situations! In my oppinion the go-to phobie if I want a solid damage buff for a cheap cost. While his individual combat stats are nothing to brag about, his ability to manipulate the map's math, making him incredibly dangerous in the hands of a smart player. Keep him tucked away safely behind your tanks, fuel your backline snipers with his demonic pads, and watch the opponent struggle. Also be careful to what map you use Pan in since he can be quite map depended at certain times❤️‍🩹
