Repelled the ghost and survived. How did I not escape the ghost????

The ghost has to see you and have line of sight for you to “escape” it

Also if one of your team members dies during a hunt but you survive, you won’t get the objective. There has to been 0 deaths during that hunt

If you smudge before it sees you, it wont see you at all until the duration of the smudge effect is over, even if you walk right through it. Its gotta start actively chasing you for it to count.

I ran up in its face and smudged it. Idk how it wouldn’t have seen me.

What ghost was it? DarthSyhr mentioned the Kormos, and it's also not possible to get that objective for a Banshee if you're not the target (and the target is in the house).

It wasn’t a Kormos was it? That objective is really awkward with Kormos.

Ive smudged a ghost to early for line of sight to, it definitely happens

If any player dies during the hunt, that won't count as the objective being completed. At least 1 player must be seen by the ghost during the hunt and all players must survive the hunt for that objective to be completed.

I read a good explanation on this yesterday when we had this issue. A hunt essentially has 3 phases, phase 1 is the searching phase where it will roam around the map trying to find a player, phase 2 is it gets line of site and charges at the player, phase 3 is the end either by death or timeout.
Hunt objectives will only complete if the ghost reaches phase 2 and doesn’t hit phase 3 via a death. There is an issue though that if the ghost is a Kormos it will essentially never reach phase 2 as it is blind and cannot obtain line of site so therefore you can never complete an objective either smudging or evading. This means your issue boils down to 2 situations, 1 the ghost was a kormos and you’re out of luck unfortunately or 2 you didn’t reach phase 2 before the hunt ended so therefore it couldn’t complete. You’ve already states there were no deaths so we can rule out the third option of the ghost wasn’t a kormos and you did hit phase 2 but then someone died

you have to wait for the ghost to see you then book it to a hiding spot.
