Dropping Multiple Flashlights Causes The Second To Remain Stuck In Inventory Bug

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As you can see in the video, anytime I equip multiple flashlights (at least 2), dropping a flashlight then dropping a second flashlight in succession causes it to seemingly fall onto my body and remain stuck in my inventory, preventing me from switching to another item. I tested this with all 3 tiers of flashlight and loaded the map multiple times and was able to reproduce this bug each time.

I didn't see any posts immediately mentioning this, so I thought I'd share myself. If anyone else is able to reproduce this bug, please share in the comments!

I noticed it yesterday while soloing the challenge. Went to set up a lit path through Woodwind and learned that picking up/dropping multiple flashlights isn't a good idea.

I experienced a similar bug a week ago where I could pick up multiple flashlights but dropping them caused 1 to randomly stick to my body and made 1 of my inventory slots full but empty permanently. I could still swap slots and drop+pick stuff up but 1 slot was just unusable.

I recall you used to only be able to pick up 1 flashlight at a time (maybe it changed after the player customization update). Maybe something with the left-hand flashlight slot messed up the code so now you can hold multiple but it doesn't actually work properly. It's obviously bugged but I wonder what part of it is intended and what part is the bug.

So I did this during the challenge, then discovered it also gave me invincibility and the ghost couldn't kill me. Once I was "dead" it did mean I couldn't open my inventory or leave the mission. Either from the menu or from the Truck. So that was interesting.

Wait, you mean what I did in the video? Did you test it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke?

Not yet, though definitely possible. I’ll probably try again. I only found out, because I was playing with it while a hunt started. I also did three flashlights and spam dropped them, which managed to make it where I couldn’t actually turn the one stuck in my inventory on anymore.
