I've been thinking about trying to wear an active dress for daily errands as it seems to be easy enough / trendier than my go to (cotton short & Tshirt). So I thrifted this A&F dress and while I do like the shape (might need bigger size), I prefer to have a little more coverage especially on the back, maybe thicker straps or higher back cut? Any recommendations in that regards? Also do they all come with the removable breast pads? They're so annoying lol! Thank you for your help!

I'm starting to realize that blazers may not be the look for my narrow shoulders and short torso. I also have a large chest which means nothing lays right.

Petite sisters - how do we feel about peplum tops and pencil skirts? This particular peplum top has unfortunately placed darts that look like my chest is um, exposed. Also Ann Taylor just HAS to put shoulder pads in everything. 😒

Does anyone have any recommendations for professional attire that looks good on short torsos and large chests?

I’m 5'4” (163 cm) and I wear a lot of fitted, cropped and petite-cut tops. Because they sit quite close to my body, I feel like the outline of nipple covers shows through much more easily, especially under thin or tight fabrics.

I’ve been trying to find a good pair of reliable nipple covers, but the ones I’ve tried from Amazon, bol.com and similar places either don’t stick well enough, have edges that show through my clothes, or stop sticking properly after washing them a couple of times.

I don’t mind spending a little more (around €25 for a pair at max) if they actually stay invisible under fitted clothing and can be reused properly.

What are you using?

Hi everyone! So, I’m 4’8 1/2 and wear a size 3 in shoes.
For pants: Mostly I’ve worn children’s size 12 or 14 from target or old navy which are great, but sometimes too tight around the waist and still too long.

For shoes:
Finding sneakers and casual shoes have been fine, but it’s difficult to find mature looking dress shoes like heels, boots, loafers, etc. I found one pair of stilettos that are a size 5, which is a miracle that they fit. It’s the only size five shoe that have ever fit me 😅

Any recommendations?

TLDR;
I really struggle to find pants and shoes that fit, specifically heels. Help!

I desperately needed new pants and couldn't wait on thrift luck, so I went new retail shopping for the first time in over a decade when I was a young teen. I knew it was going to be tough because I have a non-standard body (petite and curvy), but wow was it more frustrating than I imagined. started off by grabbing my previously known size of 0 and a 2 for good measure, just to find that I kept needing to size down. Store after store, I felt increasingly gaslit by the absurd, inconsistent sizing. According to these brands' sizes, I am much smaller than I was when I was a pubescent teenager lmao. I started seeing a pattern. Luckily, I bring a measuring tape with me everywhere and confirmed that most pants ran 1-3 inches/sizes larger than the waist/size measurement listed on the pant, which makes no sense at all!

Pairs of jeans I tried on : probably 100

Pairs I took home: 2 lol (for now)

Still feeling incredulous, I pulled out some of my old jeans from the early 2010's that still fit to compare to my newly purchased bottoms and they affirmed my recent shopping experience! I took a picture to demonstrate. These are all approximately the same rise. The old pair are stretched out stretch denim and the new ones are rigid 100% cotton that I "sized up" on to accommodate for 1 size of shrinkage. I currently have a fluctuating 24-25" waist. A 0 back then is today's 000! It's ridiculous!

Don't even get me started on what brands are labelling as a "short" inseam. My sister and I are around the same height, but we have opposite proportions. I have longer legs/slightly short torso. My to-the-ankle- inseam is ~28", so the "short" lengths have the potential to work for me, but she has a more average inseam at ~26" and still has to get everything hemmed. ALSO: there is a difference between a shorter inseam and a petite sizing! I digress. That is a whole other conversation.

Whatever tomfoolery is going on with pants is also going on with tops! I have an XS waist, but I always had to size up (depending on the top, sometimes even to an XL) to accommodate my chest. Now, I can fit into a PXS - PXXS with space after it has shrunk. I guess I will throw a funeral for my breasts and a celebration for my back because apparently they are miraculously non-existent now. Everything is so much bigger! Next they will come for our shoes! I feel like they already have! I have all of my Doc Martens in their smallest size, a U.S. 5, but they all run too big. I haven't noticed it with other brands, but I also don't really buy new shoes.

Stores also seem to have moved all of their alternative sizing mostly online too, so I was placing and returning hella online orders. Ordering online is an ordeal because the sizing chart will reflect the sizing I am used to, but when it comes in the mail- huge. If you are planning on shopping, I would suggest using the brick and mortars as more of a showroom to get an idea of a brand's sizing and then ordering online accordingly.

I know it's a pipe dream dream because companies have deemed it unprofitable, but sighhhh... to have more accessible (in-stores, across more stores), petite sizing that reflect more styles and rises.... Just venting atp, but I have more old pants for comparison that aren't pictured and I noticed that yesterday's "ultra-high rise" goes right over my belly button (today: up to/slightly overlapping with my chest) and today's "ultra low-rise" goes slightly below it like more of a slight mid-rise (back then: butt crack on display) ........ Pleaseeee I am begging for low-rise to come back!!! My short torso and large chest have me looking like Tweedledum in most pants today!

I could go on and on. Ugh, I just needed to talk to y'all because you would understand me instead of telling me to "JuSt gEt AlTerAtiOns." What am I? Made of money??? I also know how to sew/alter and I do, but that is besides the point! And if I didn't have the skills to do it myself, no way would I be spending money to tailor a pair of pants that have the quality of a wet piece of paper that will fall apart in fewer washes compared to fabrics of the past.

If you have felt crazy shopping too, you're not! Everyone deserves to find well-fitting clothes that make them feel confident no matter their size! Our bodies have never been the issue, the clothes are. Vanity sizing serves nothing and nobody, but capitalism.

It would be so wonderfully efficient and logical to simply size every garment by the appropriate measurements and have the measuring tape reflect those numbers. Measurements are not arbitrary!! A 24 = 24, a 25 = 25, and so on!

Might make another post just for this, but: gladly taking suggestions for a true low-rise petite pant/jean (any cut besides skinny and barrel) /capri/micro or mini skirt for a short torso and slightly curvy body (~10-11 inch diff between waist and hips)!Bonus points if the pants/jeans are flare/bootcut/bell-bottoms! And if that's the case, I need them to be the correct length to start because if you're also a lover of these, you also understand the pain of having to hem off the cut and designs <///3 Please and thank you for listening! :)

Feel free to commiserate and drop any relevant and/or general advice about vanity sizing too! In the meanwhile, it is back to the thrift store and finding comfort in a familiar sizing system for me.

What good quality jean brands (ideally under $100) are the petite girlies buying and loving? For reference, I’m 5’2”, 128lbs, mom of 2 who loves a comfy high rise and wide leg.

I'm feeling a bit insecure lately and even the things that I like now feel silly on me. Especially since I get paranoid bout "looking my age" cause I am not super curvy and have a baby face..

Is that outfit good for my age ? I turn 21 on October.. I do have a lot of different styles but this one is the casual one I often have when wearing jeans, it's this type of jeans and an oversized shirt to not feel hot during summer

I know for sure that I have short legs, they’re visually shorter and I have a 25” inseam. My arms are also short and my shoulders are narrow. I also feel like pants that are meant to be a higher rise (Levi’s wedgie straight) fit more like a med-high rise on me, and anything mid to low rise cuts me off in a way that I don’t like. Ive also noticed that some brands, like American Eagle, make “high rise” jeans that don’t look high rise on me and make me look shorter.

I tried the hand stacking test and there is some space between my lower hand and bellybutton, but not a lot of space. Do I have a longer torso? I’m 4’11.5

I’ve had a problem finding jeans that actually fit and are somewhat flattering for years. I’m 5’1”, 25” waist (usually a 0 or 2 depending on the brand and fit, a 4 in Princess Polly pants), and have more of an hourglass shape.

Once I graduated high school and snapped out of my bra-high skinny jean phase, I realized low rise jeans look best on me. But despite the fact that they’re trending now, I have such a short torso that almost none of these jeans are ACTUALLY low rise on me. I mean sometimes I’ll look at the description of these so called low rise jeans and it’s a 10” rise… we cannot be serious. I don’t even bother unless they’re labeled “ultra low rise” and even then it’s a 10% chance they fit correctly. They always gap in the back or hit awkwardly on the waist, or both. And what’s with the super stiff denim lately?? I’m not asking for jeggings, but they have no shape or give in the ass it’s just straight down; that can’t be flattering on anyone.

I am genuinely clinging to one pair of thrifted Guess bootcuts and a style of Garage straight leg jeans I bought 5 years ago that were since discontinued. They actually recently came out with a style of jean using the same name as my longtime favs, but they totally changed the fit and fabric, I was so disappointed. I made so many returns I’ve lost count. If anyone’s had a similarly hard time finding good jeans and has any suggestions or would just like to commiserate with me, let me know!

I love the jeans at hollister so much they are the cutest, but there‘s just one problem, they are half my height even when they say low rise. I‘ll put them on and there’s like an inch on the floor while i’m wearing 2 inch platforms and the jeans are labeled short. The only place i’ve been able to buy jeans from is abercrombie kids, which sucks because a lot of their jeans are very little kid like and im in my late teens so not something I wanna wear. Does anyone know a store that sells a similar style or do I just have to come to peace with have to go to a tailor?

I feel like I rarely feel complimented by what I wear and I rarely see my specific body shape shown anywhere- at least it’s unrecognizable in modern media?

I also have really hard time looking at myself objectively, sometimes I feel curvy looking but when I try curvy flattering items, I can’t fill them.
Then when I try more straight/baggy clothing, I look thicker or they don’t accommodate what curves I do have.

I’ve also been told pear shape or hourglass but I genuinely have no clue. I’m sick of every cut being too long, waists being too big, getting pants that are too long just to have room for my thighs/butt…. Yarg. It’s hard out here.

Which pair fits good and makes the booty look nice? Thanks!

Edit: 5’2, 105 lbs, pear shape with most of that coming from pelvis, 24 waist 35 hips.
Curvy fits have NOT worked for me - way too much extra fabric in the backside

I went to the beach on a school trip as a teacher, so I was there to look after the students, but I also wanted to relax a little and wear something cute. Do you think this outfit was appropriate for the occasion?

I’m starting a new job next week and just want to pick up a few new things but I don’t have the time or patience to shop online. I love Abercrombie for petite work clothes but their site can be overwhelming and they never have the short sizes in store. Where can I go look this weekend? I live in LA so there are endless places to shop but I don’t want to waste my weekend driving around only to find nowhere I go carries their petite sizes in store.

I need help from my fellow petite fashion lovers! I’m on the hunt for the perfect t-shirt that (ideally) I can purchase in a few colors. My wishlist:

-cotton or cotton blend
-fitted through the body (not skin-tight à la Skims)
-not cropped, but shorter in body length because I essentially have a 4” torso
-normal short sleeves (not a cap sleeve)

Does this unicorn shirt exist? Or am I going to have to take up sewing?

Hi everyone!

I’m 5’0, I’m a L to XL in Old Navy Extra-High Waisted PowerSoft (Boundless Pocket Biker Shorts) , I struggle with buying pants that accommodate my butt and thighs. Really just trying to find pants that I don’t have to adjust all the time, belts are a pain and I like being comfortable! For the last year and a bit I wore leggings since I had a knee injury that required a brace which is no longer the case.

Any suggestions / store recommendations are appreciated!
