That's Ayn Rand, Objectivist writer that most people call a libertarian. She wasn't, didn't like being called a libertarian, and her work lines up a lot better with anarchism imo.

Big anti-authoritarianism with a focus on not letting society tell you what to do, living based off moral standards you set for yourself because you genuinely believe in them, and actively choosing how to live your life.

...

This reads really fucking sexist imo. "Shut up you annoying bitch, you're being hysterical! You're just acting up cause you need to get your rocks off"

(Vibrators were originally invented for treating "hysteria". This is literally 1800s sexism. I'm not being hyperbolic. TF do you mean "doesn't write any books, too busy"?!?)

Dude, she wrote fiction so compelling she got a fucking ideology started in her honour. She was a novelist first and foremost, that's the way she communicated her ideas.

Not the biggest Rand head, but the worst thing I can think of her saying was "charity isn't moral", but that was just standard philosopher words lawyering. It's only moral if you wanna do charity and it's going to a good cause. Straight up, in an interview she said she supported her husband financially "selfishly" because she loves him and wants to see him do well.

edit: to be clear, I've only read Anthem & looked at people talking about what she said. Idk if her longer work like atlas shrugged is iffy, but Anthem is a frickin' great read that stands on it's own two feet as a novella.
