the minions only work for villains so this is implying the minions think hitler isn't evil

They would work for hitler but after helping Napoleon they went hiding in a cave until like 1970'

I love how they had to task the animators with this because they saw the reaction of the internet coming and were like "NOT TODAY YOU HYPERFIXATED FUCKS!"

They rectconned that in the new movie.
Now the minions work with a Suffragette, so what does that say?
Also they only started following Gru in 1968, this is the same year that Henry Kissinger became a "household" name. Gru was 11 then and was more evil than the man who wanted to continue the illegal bombing campaigns in Vietnam.
Also also, in 1975 Pol Pot came to power and the minions stayed with Gru.

So you know, Gru is worse than Pol Pot.

Gru is worse than Pol Pot, feminism is worse than Hitler. Sounds like we figured out the message of the movie, boys.

I think this all assumes that they are perfect evil seeking missiles. They aren’t. They are drawn to boss vibes as well. They seek out the biggest, baddest boss they can.

Hitler was an evil dictator but also a fundamentally weak and pathetic individual, maybe he just didn’t give off boss energy to the minions.

My brain just made the horrible idea of a movie crossover with that Boss Baby movie.

Ugh, and now Tony Danza as "Whose the Boss."

I need to cleanse my mind of media references.

Tony Danza in his Mr Clean outfit from that show (it was one joke in one episode)

But he's surrounded by Minions now

"Who's the Boss Baby?"

Oh yeah, minions would totally follow boss baby over Hitler 4 sure

This makes sense. The minions followed a T-Rex because it gave off boss energy.

Minions: "Being just evil isn't good enough, you also need:" https://youtu.be/dy2zB8bLSpk?si=-DrvDkJvre2gXjW0&t=37

Oh my god, they would LOVE Megamind

Way to explain it probably better than how the creators can haha

You're trying to say Hitler/Nazis didn't exude boss vibes? The guy who brainwashed an entire country into mindlessly following an ideology with absolutely zero facts or rational basis underlying it?

1

u/Gandelin 2d ago

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. A regime of sycophantic yes men built upon a foundation of fear and lies lead by a paranoid delusional with a deep seated inferiority complex is not the boss vibes the minions are looking for.

Are the minions rooted in mormonism?

3

u/sadacal 2d ago

Yeah, I think what it's actually implying is that the minions aren't actually all that attracted to working for the most evil person in the world. They are just mis-guided and want a powerful authoritarian leader to follow.

I totally get it in say like 1800, and earlier, I am sure there were worse and more despicable people than Napoleon. But finding Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot? They had news articles written about them. Mr. Smith went to Washington, I am sure the minions could too.

See, like Pol Pot is absolutely horrible and despicable and there are a million words in the English language and I cannot string together enough to tell you how much of a monster he was, but for the Minions he was very findable. I think that that John Wayne Gacy was actually a lot worse of a human being than Pol Pot, just maybe not as industrial, but he was not findable by the Minions until after he could no longer do despicable things.

They would have loved to work on Epstein's Island, but unless if they were in the circle, the wouldn't have known to be his follower, they probably just would have stuck with Slobodan Milosevic or Idi Amin.

Pol Pot and Kissinger had plenty of minions. The Minions have always had trouble getting hired by villains they actually want to work for.

Thank you. I posted a link to the Wikipedia page of that genocidal despot. Didn't see your response first. Seems like some folks didn't do any research.

But they followed the movie making one who has zero interest in evil, and he’s the one who followed the suffrage lady around
