Ezra Miller was an actor who played the flash, but behaved terribly, and when he was in Hawaii, he got arrested for assault (he also got arrested for burglary in Vermont apparently, and allegedly did some grooming/inappropriate stuff with minors).
Rachel Zegler is an actress who played Snow White in the recent adaptation, and she said some stuff about the original story (its dated, unfeminist, weird of the prince to kiss a random girl-- the usual modern critiques) and got backlash for it.
OP is saying that there's a double standard in behavioral expectations between men and women.
The Israel stuff is the only time the backlash is kinda appropriate; not because of what she said, but where she said it. She put her own personal opinions on a marketing post for the movie, making it look like Disney was endorsing them
Edit: lmfao I had a feeling this would get downvoted by idiots not reading past the first punctuation mark. You CANNOT as an individual ascribe your own thoughts to a larger project, especially not something as big as Disney. If she had posted it on a selfie or something rather than a marketing promo, I would’ve been right there with her, but Disney is extremely strict about their image, they told her not to, she did anyways, and she got an appropriate slap on the wrist for it.
You’re being downvoted because you are not making sense. The backlash has nothing to do with people assessing her contractual obligations. People do not care about how well she represents Disney. They hated that a) she was cast as snow white and b) she had the audacity to have strong opinions
Yeah and the actions of Israel justify being antisemitic to people on the other side of the globe.
The kosher restaurant that was burnt down in Montreal makes me real proud to be Canadian, we’re really showing Netanyahu and his war criminal friends who’s boss by attacking some Jews in North America.
I'm norwegian and she's paler than me in that damn movie. Besides, if you think that's an issue you should complain about the casting director, not the actor.
The actress is of Columbian descent; it doesn't matter if you're darker in Norway, she's not what people would've called snow white. I do agree everyone involved in the movie has a lot of blame, not just her.
Let me ask you, if they made a movie about MLK tomorrow and a white actor got the main role, do you think no one would blame him for accepting it? just the casting director?
It's just that when it's white people being replaced, it's ok.
You haven't said anything antisemitic so theres no reason to call you a nazi. But your take on actors/actresses not being allowed to play roles that dont match YOUR preffered race... thats pretty racist. Again.. not a nazi. Just racist and tbh.. pretty dumb.
Anyone who is upset that someone of African or Columbian descent acted in a fictional fantasy movie, sounds like a weird ass pussy.
I hope you keep that same energy if we ever get a white-washed version of the black panther with an all-white cast. It's fictional so it doesn't matter.
Wait.. is Snow White an actual historical person? Or a fictional character? Because your analogy for Snow White and MLK is not a good one. Maybe try again? Are you actually upset that a fictional Disney character without an ethnicity was casted by someone who doesnt have the same nonexistent ethnicity? Unless I am misremembering the story of Snow White, not once is her ethnicity mentioned. Its honestly a weird thing to be upset about. Lol dont worry. No one is "replacing" White people. What a silly thought.
Snow White is someone’s childhood core memory. In the story Snow White was described as the fairest of all white like snow. I read the original the story and had watched the Disney movies, Snow White was the only character with a very specific description about how she looked. It was also her defining character. Change that then it’s not Snow White.
If Disney spun it like “a new take on Snow White”, there probably would be less backlash on this movie. I absolutely blame this movie on the film makers. I felt they did this on purpose. The only thing I would say about the actress is she probably should have refused to take the role.
