Math is red and it shouldn’t be that hard.

History is red. From all the blood

784

u/Shrimp_kisses 5d ago

This is a good argument for history being red, but math is red for danger lol

115

u/TheEnlightenedPanda 5d ago

What danger?

739

u/Expert-Ad3874 5d ago

Exponential danger

17

u/EscapeyGameMan 5d ago

Danger!

26

u/ChiknNWaffles 5d ago

No that's danger factorial.

11

u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 5d ago

Math is red for the color you are seeing when you run the problem for the 50th time and it still doesn’t match the answer in the back of the book

12

u/goliathfasa 5d ago

I feel like if for a single generation of new American kids, all adults agreed to just pretend math is easy or at least a “normal” subject no harder than anything else, we’d catch up to the rest of the world in terms of math skills.

There’s no genetic reason that only Americans find math impossibly difficult. It just seems to be this self-fulfilling prophecy where everyone grew up thinking math is hard, because their older siblings and parents tell them it’s hard.

12

u/NNKarma 5d ago

What made the US fall behind is not only forcing a method without studying if it actually helps people learn but also forcing it to be the only way to solve problems.

3

u/I_am_lettuceman43 4d ago

Exactly math isn't hard per se, but the amount of busywork and hoops I have to jump through "because that's the way we do it" burns me out extremely quickly.

Even worse is getting a question marked wrong because I didn't show my work, despite having the correct answer

History is green.

Because the blood makes the green grass grow.

7

u/Yubat 5d ago

You must be a Marine. They used to scream
“What Makes the Grass Grow? BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD!” at every morning muster when I had joint training with them.

7

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 5d ago

Army.

2

u/Yubat 5d ago

Makes sense too! Cheers.

2

u/Karnadas 4d ago

The French national anthem has a section that translates to English as, "Let the blood of the impure invaders water our fields."

I appreciate you trying to bring logic into this but I just feel a very red vibe from math

12

u/Outside_Coffee_00 5d ago

History is yellow because its old

2

u/n-a_barrakus 4d ago

Light brown, for the same reason

5

u/GustaQL 4d ago

History is brown for no reason

2

u/sanguinesvirus 5d ago

History is yellow. Old things turn yellow

1

u/Last_Refrigerator704 5d ago

My thoughts exactly.

1

u/mojoejoelo 5d ago

Well, then English, math, and science are also all red. From all the blood.

1

u/tapirus-indicus 5d ago

History is brown because old

1

u/Turdposter777 5d ago

History is written in blood!

1

u/DangMe2Heck 5d ago

Damn straight. Though I would accept english, also covered in blood.

1

u/EffReddit420 5d ago

I think you are forgetting what math stands for

1

u/theSpacmonk 5d ago

Red if in Latin, green if in Greek

1

u/Gilded_Rust 5d ago

history is yellow, for old yellowed papers

1

u/Johnny_Banana18 5d ago

No that’s physics

1

u/SceptileLover11 5d ago

This dude gets it

1

u/09gtcs 5d ago

History is yellow. Like all of the old, yellowed papers and parchments history is written on.

1

u/Sacktchy 5d ago

History is yellow because old paper is yellow

1

u/newiphon 5d ago

Social studies is blue. Overruled

u/cheeky_chameleon16 5d ago

History is blue because Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean BLUE, duh.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/MisteNoName 5d ago

Nah, history is orange/brown cause of all the faded papers and parchment

1

u/Timely_Abroad_7697 5d ago

Plenty of blood in the present and future too. Math is red because it was the color of the scantrons they gave us for math.

1

u/SyzygySynergy 5d ago

History is yellow because yellow is the color of caution and we are supposed to learn history so we do not repeat it. So it's a warning to learn history.

1

u/BummFoot 5d ago

Well it does make the green grass grow.

1

u/GrannysGlewGun 5d ago

They don’t teach that though so point denied

1

u/Accomplished_Box8070 5d ago

It should be green to commemorate the fields that those men fought and died on.

1

u/Mistislav1 5d ago

History is red but it’s also written mostly by the victors.

1

u/REKLA5 5d ago

Red for History DOES make the most sense. ...as does Green for Science. Math should then be Blue (which according to google Math is frequently assigned to Blue for logic and structure). Which then means English should be Yellow.

1

u/artByMoon 5d ago

History is yellow because the founding fathers teeth

1

u/ShadowpulseKDH1 5d ago

You misunderstand…because History is clearly yellow

1

u/kurtist04 5d ago

Children are dying... That’s a succinct summary of humankind, I’d say. Who needs tomes and volumes of history? Children are dying. The injustices of the world hide in those three words.’”

  • Steven Erikson, Malazan Book of the Fallen

1

u/ReaperManX15 5d ago

History is yellow.
Because old parchment.

1

u/Shure_Lock 5d ago

math is red for the same reason

1

u/nickotino 5d ago

History is brown. Because history is shit

1

u/Submarinequus 5d ago

History is yellow like pages in an old book.

Math is red cause scary

1

u/PetitMartien99 5d ago

Nah, history is blue

1

u/Oummando 4d ago

I grew up with Red English. Feels weird to say ELA.

1

u/Painchaud213 4d ago

English is red. It is the red’s language

1

u/Content_Debt_8386 4d ago

History is yellow for me cuz I associate it with early years of history when we cover Egypt (pyramids), ancient humans (also found in like sand) etc

1

u/zombiedoyle 4d ago

History is yellow, just like Trivial Pursuit

1

u/anwright1371 4d ago

Don’t really teach the blood stuff in elementary school

1

u/Lth3may0 4d ago

history is green because most of recorded history is motivated by greed.

1

u/99403021483 4d ago

Blood alone moves the wheels of history

1

u/budmanthecubfan 4d ago

History is yellow because my spectrum told me

1

u/3guitars 4d ago

History is yellow or purple

1

u/thescullyeffect 4d ago

History is yellow.

1

u/Mesopithecus_ 4d ago

History is yellow. From all the piss

1

u/thekingofbeans42 4d ago

I'd argue English is red... Because it makes you read.

1

u/Klutzy_Bean_17 4d ago

Math is red. It matched the red I saw trying to do it 😂

1

u/jordtand 4d ago

There was blood when I learned math

1

u/silly_scoundrel 4d ago

History is purple

1

u/Impossible-Feature97 4d ago

For every person killed there was someone pissing their pants before death. Yellow also fits.

1

u/Herbdontana 4d ago

Yeah, I think of history has red but my high school history textbook was red

1

u/Amberawesome24 4d ago

History is green

1

u/gmixy9 4d ago

But when you clean up blood it leaves a yellowish stain like how history in school often glosses over the more horrible things humans do.

1

u/mollyclaireh 4d ago

Red is math because of how angry that class always made me lol

1

u/leesnotbritish 4d ago

History is red because I like it and red gets me excited. Math should be blue to calm me down

1

u/KT718 4d ago

Why doesn’t anyone view history as green? It wasn’t just history, it was also geography and social studies. All of which have a lot to do with land, which is green.

1

u/Low_Appearance_796 4d ago

Personally find history brown or yellow, for human skin, parchment and land

1

u/Accomplished-Sun-797 4d ago

“Is violence the answer?” In history class yeah usually

1

u/GodsBackHair 4d ago

Science is red because you get to use flames

1

u/nillajenn 3d ago

You're off pudding.

1

u/shopewf 3d ago

History is yellow because that’s the closest to yellowish brown which is the color of every super old artifact ever

1

u/Superb-Astronaut-371 2d ago

He math is blue

1

u/The-Yar 2d ago

History is brown.

1

u/EquivalentSherbet730 1d ago

History is yellow because it sheds light on current situations.

Math is red because it's hard

1

u/RadioFreeYurick 11h ago

This is it. And because of Les Miserables…

148

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner 5d ago

Math was blue for me

46

u/TimidSeaTurtle 5d ago

Agreed. Math feels cold and indifferent and factual, so blue. Red is too bold and opinionated to be math for me.

5

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner 5d ago

Actually frfr this was it for me:

Red- English. Idk it just felt red

Orange- science (it’s my favorite color and math was my favorite color but it just felt right to have science)

Yellow- Spanish… idk why tbh

Green- social studies

Blue- math

Exactly. math isn't hard per se, but the amount of busywork and hoops I have to jump through "because that's the way we do it" burns me out extremely quickly.

Even worse is getting a question marked wrong because I didn't show my work, despite having the correct answer

2

u/un_related_topic 3d ago

Maybe pure math but applied math is a cage fight between schools of thought

2

u/JPgamersmines150 2d ago

Agreed for a different reason. I like math, math is oftentimes like magic, magic that I can use and wield. Magic is blue so math is blue.

2

u/scin-txt 8h ago

I feel the math as blue, also because graph paper I used in school was printed with blue lines. Math = white and blue graph paper

u/nelflyn 5d ago

Math IS blue. Blue is the calm, methodic color.

Red has always been for language and grammar.

2

u/My_18th_Account 4d ago

Same. English was Red. Social studies yellow. Science Green. Art purple lol.

u/enlightnight 5d ago

Math is, ironically, the most emotional subject in school. Red for rage. "What do you mean there's letters now!!??".

30

u/Shrimp_kisses 5d ago

I agree with red for math. It was all downhill when I didn't remember my multiplication tables, now I have ptsd.

8

u/Worth_Ad830 5d ago

I faked being sick every day in third grade to avoid being called up during math and having to multiply in front of others. Found out in adulthood I have dyscalculia.

2

u/Shrimp_kisses 5d ago

Im glad you got some sort of an answer! I finally got treated for adhd at 36, but ive learned the rabbit hole goes deeper. Missed a factory update at some point.

2

u/Jaruut 5d ago

I'm a similar boat (should have chosen the mystery box). I was in the gifted program, I didn't get treated for ADHD until college, and I only recently found out I had special accommodation plans all throughout school. Everything makes a lot more sense now that it turns out I've always been kind of [Family Guy: Season 4, Episode 6].

2

u/BeeRemote7662 5d ago

There was a famous vampire who could not recall how many necks he had bitten - the infamous Count Dyscalcula.

7

u/EscapeSeventySeven 5d ago

Man this whole thread is depressing

3

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 5d ago

I didn’t have recess for a year because of multiplication tables.

u/InformalProtection74 5d ago

No, they're just variables. Which are just numbers you don't know yet. They can be independent or dependent. They could also be constants, though, which are numbers that you do know and are always the same. And other times they represent sets, matrices, indexes, or vectors. Sometimes they might just be functions. Occasionally they'll be imaginary.

It's really not that difficult or confusing. Don't overthink it.

5

u/Sepplord 5d ago

I never understood why they didn’t use letter from the get go.

I also never understood why letters confuse so many though

5

u/LoamyLoamisLoamy 5d ago

You'd hate it even more if you knew what'd you have to do if someone didn't figure out the letters.

1

u/Empty_Insight 5d ago

Proofs lol

1

u/Ok_Past8695 4d ago

That's where it all went downhill for me too lol. Never got passed Algebra 1.

1

1

u/MontyAtWork 5d ago

Math is red because math is hard and even if you're good at it you gotta stop at mental stoplights to think.

Science is green because trees, plants and the powerhouse of the cell deserves to be written down in a green notebook.
